The Huntsman Of Death:A Gamer's POV As Side Character

Chapter 54 56:Mannerism

Chapter 54 56:Mannerism

The entire day, I couldn't suppress the déjà vu that was giving me goosebumps. Fortunately, the entire day was filled with theory; otherwise, I might have fucked up if we had spars or monster fights.

I am sure that the spectral I saw was going to attach to a person who was going to be used as fodder for the protagonist to step up, but I don't know which one.

Most specters I encountered in the game were ones who had already possessed a person. And having dealt with many, I never feared them until I saw them.

The live raw form of those slithering worms disgusted me. If it came and attached to me unknowingly, could I have resisted it?

I am only smug because I have Spectral Vision to identify them, but it only helps when I activate it. There is no pre-warning, and my hunter instinct didn't fare any better because it was a sneaky, formless being.

I don't know where it disappeared nor did I use spectral vision to search it.

Activating Spectral Vision was troublesome. In a brief moment, the ravings and murmurs almost made me deaf and lost my sanity.

I shouldn't let my curiosity get the better of me.

Returning to my room, I rinsed my face a few times, letting the cold water cool me down. On raising my face, I was greeted by a pair of troubled purplish eyes, to which I questioned,

"I thought I was tough."

"With all that I suffered, I didn't think anything could shake me, but..."

A smirk appeared on the face that reflected in the mirror.

"In the end, I have a weak mentality. 9.8 seems big but it's just the starting point, allowing me enough space to resist and not lose my mind."

I slapped my cheek to remind myself.

This isn't a game... This is real, and he is alive within it.

One wrong step might not lead to death, but it would certainly lead to destruction.

....

Reaching the designated place we had been asked to gather, I appeared at the training ground that had been brimming with color heads.

Entering, I could already see myriad groups of familiar faces stitching with one another. As I walked, I noticed a few sneaking glances at me.

Some conversations reached my ears.

"Wow! Who is he? So handsome!"

"You don't know him? He is the one who came late on the second day."

"Ohh, that cool guy who evaded Mrs. Emilia's kick."

"You think that was cool?"

The topic perturbed nearby and lasted only for a short while before I sneaked into a corner, waiting for the event or drama to start.

"So, you were here?"

I paused a bit and turned around to see a familiar guy leaning against the pillar.

"What are you doing here?"

"You!" Edwin controlled himself and, ignoring her, walked away.

"Hey, while you are going—"

"Just shut up and stop being annoying," Edwin spoke coldly and walked to his stand. His pace was clearly faster than previous.

Everyone who stood before him dispersed, running to the side.

Freya's smile vanished, casting an expression that matched Edwin's quite well.

Then she looked at the people staring at her. Irked by it, she scoffed, "Stop staring at me."

"Can't you two do something about that temper?"

Freya looked irritably at the green-haired lady who appeared with a smug smile.

"Shut up. Also, you don't have any right to interfere here, Leila," she spoke coldly.

Behind her was the golden-haired lady Selena and the redhead Ava. At the entrance door, she spotted a pale blue-haired boy who piqued her curiosity due to the recent news.

The boy had managed to deal with a renowned bandit with little to no injury. The tale was quite widespread because the bandits were all awakened and terrorized the place.

Even though he looked weak, taking on an entire gang of bandits who didn't play by the rules wasn't easy.

Ashton noticed the gaze and stared at Freya, who shook her head and looked at Leila. "Instead of butting heads with me, you should improve yourself so as not to stain the honor of nobles."

Leila's expression stiffened, and Selena decided to interfere with a glare. "You shouldn't be rude like this."

"Stop preaching to me. It's the same for you, idiot. With such bloodline potential, you are ranked at 8 when light is the most fearsome element against the abyssal threat."

"What a waste!" Freya sneered, making Selena frown, unable to retort.

"You bitch!" Leila cursed and was almost prepared to pounce when Freya decided to ignore her.

Ava then came and patted Leila, saying, "It's okay."

Selena and Leila's gazes softened, but what they heard next made them cough blood.

"Just get stronger and beat her."

Their expressions cracked, and Leila screamed, "Are you consoling me or sprinkling salt on my wounds?"

"Huh? Why did you say that? It's the truth, isn't it? After all, you are weaker than her."

"Damn! I am gonna kill you."

"Stop!" Roderick sneaked in and grabbed Leila, who tried to shake him off.

"Let me go! I am gonna kill her first, then the other bitch," Leila shouted, shoving Roderick, who looked at Ashton for help, but he just shook his head and stepped back, ignoring them as if he didn't know them.

In the midst of this, a clap echoed followed by a cold voice.

"All of you behave yourself and get back in line. It's time for class," a loud soothing voice resonated in the space.

Everyone turned and saw Emila appear alongside a stranger.
