CHAPTER 394 - Aurora's Nightmare.
CHAPTER 394 - Aurora's Nightmare.
Aurora was asked by Argon to come along with him when he had vanished from that world, but she had refused him by saying that she wanted to stay on Gaia.
She roamed all around the world, going to places that were called the best of the best on Gaia. And if she were to be honest, although not as much as Eldoria, Gaia was a beautiful world.
There were many spots worth going to at least once in a lifetime.
Yes, she wanted a place to stay—a place she could call home. She wanted friends, some people to get along with, but even without them, she was doing fine.
At least on Gaia, she wouldn't have to worry about getting trapped or even killed.
She was the strongest on Gaia.
There were some people who could pose a challenge for her, some who could possibly defeat her if given time, but she didn't really care about the world. This was just a place for her to relax; if it were to get destroyed, she would just live in that destroyed world.
But one day, when she was enjoying the pitter-patter of soft sprinkles of water that she could feel when sitting close to a waterfall, she felt something back was about to happen.
Her mood soured all of a sudden. She could feel something—something she couldn't avoid.
The next second, she felt a tug on her navel region, she tried to pull herself away from it, but no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't do anything, it was as if she was trying to fight against an undeniable authority.
It was just the next instant that her world blurred; her vision was the same. She couldn't make out what was happening until she found herself lying on the ground.
"Huh?"
As she felt the cold, hard floor below her along with the density of mana in the air, her mind churned.
'Where am I—?!'
She hurriedly sat up straight, trying to understand what was happening, but the moment her eyes moved, trying to take in the surroundings, her world froze—more like, she froze.
Her body trembled as her eyes met with a pair of cold golden eyes. Those eyes were staring at her without any emotion on the surface, but she knew that the owner of those eyes was delighted to have her here.
The memories of being trapped in the eternal prison flashed in her eyes.
All the things that have happened in the future, how she was fooled and used by the man standing in front of her with his arms folded behind his back, how she was thrown aside when her task was complete.
In the present time, she was supposed to be his subordinate, and she should've been one, but the moment she gained a body must have been the moment the real Aurora vanished, as there could only be one Aurora alive at a time.
That change, although altered from the minds of everyone, wouldn't have her employer's mind, and he must've started searching for her.
But still...

She was honestly scared. All the things she had been through before—the time in the eternal prison, desperate to breathe, desperate to stay alive—had given her PSTD.
Just the mention of those places was enough to send a shiver down her spine.
She hated the guy, Antares Blaze, the golden dragon, the same guy who stood in front of her, to her bone, but she knew that she wasn't strong enough to be able to defeat him.
She knew her limits.
She had always wanted to take revenge on the guy, she wanted to make him suffer just like she had, but after a while, she realized that she didn't really have the power to do it, so she abandoned that idea.
Now, as she recalled all that, she felt herself falling deeper into the abyss.
The golden dragon tilted his head, his expression still serious, but soon, her expression twisted, forming a devilish grin.
"I do what I want to do."
"N-NOOOOOO—!!"
The moment she heard Antares's words, Aurora's eyes went wide. She realized what she was going to have to face, so she tried to break free, but her voice was cut short as her world darkened.
After what seemed like an eternity to her, Aurora finally woke up.
"N-No..."
Only to find herself in a place she was much too familiar with...
"No, no, no... please, no. Not again..."
She was in the cave of suffering in the eternal prison—the place that gave her nightmares till the date.
*Sniffle—Hic—Sniff*
She couldn't stop her tears anymore. She was alone. Once again. But this time, there was nothing but darkness around her—a suffocating darkness that could make people go crazy.
But that was not all as the next second.
"Hak!"
Her breath ran out, and her hand moved to her throat, clenching it hard, hoping that maybe some air would enter it, only to fail.
From then started her time inside the cave, and who knows how long it had been since she finally heard a voice other than her own voice and the sound of the water dripping down the ceiling?
She had been waiting for someone to come in; maybe help her.
In this empty hall with nothing but dead people in it, she had a lot of time to think about what to do.
At the start, she struggled—so much that Antares had to come here again and tear her wings apart as a warning.
After that day, all she did was desperately survive and concoct a plan to get out of this place.
The betrayal from Argon had taught her a lesson, so this time she wasn't going to go easy on whoever it was. It didn't matter how hard of a life that person had lived; all she wanted was for them to become a tool for her to use.
"W-Who are you?"
That was why, when she heard the question from the guy in front of her, she knew exactly what she had to do.
"Just...Hah... a poor... soul...who got... betrayed... by..."
"Ah..."
She could hear the guy's voice. There was pain in his voice, as if he could understand her agony, but it didn't matter to her.
"...someone... I tried... to... trust."
She lifted her head, and the moment her eyes fell on the recording device, she used whatever little mana she could use to disable it.
It was now time for the real thing, so her eyes finally moved to the guy who was going to be her pawn.
