Chapter 14
Chapter 14
It was originally agreed that he would send Wen Yan to the Sanshu Alley to guard Wen Yan against the crowd. Jiang Zhou held his hand all the way.@@@@
When they arrived at the place, Wen Yan didn’t ask him to let him go and Jiang Zhou certainly wouldn’t mention it. The two of them continued to held hands and walked around slowly.
It was until Xiao Yi started crying.
A child never cared about their parents; they would be active no matter if the parents were in date of not. He cried out when he woke up and hungry for food.
Xiao Yi pressed his face into Wen Yan’s face in habit, searching for foods.
Jiang Zhou felt his heart was broken when he saw Xiao Yi cried loudly, “Is he hungry? What’s the thing he usually eat?”
Wen Yan blushed strangely and replied after a pause, “Most of the time, he drinks milk.”
He didn’t explain more but Xiao Yi wasn’t very healthy when he was born. Wen Yan went to the doctor in town and the doctor said it was best to breastfeed the baby or use the cow’s milk.
As a ger, he didn’t have much milk like a woman but there was still some after giving birth.
He didn’t want to let Xiao Yi drank other people’s milk, so he fed him cow milk most of the time and fed him personally everyone once in a while. Which had brought Xiao Yi to grow up until now.
However, he couldn’t mention the matter of breastfeeding to Jiang Zhou.
Jiang Zhou looked and saw that Wen Yan didn’t bring any milk with him, so he asked, “Did you not bring any milk when you came out? Did you leave it with your parents?”
“No, I fed him before we leave. So, I didn’t bring more, I thought he wouldn’t be hungry.”
It seemed that there was only one way to do it. Wen Yan glanced at Jiang Zhou and bit his lips.
Jiang Zhou looked at his hesitant eyes, he was a little confused too, “What’s wrong?”
Wen Yan sighed, “It’s too late to go back now. Even if there is milk, I have to boil it first and left it to be warm before feeding him.”
Xiao Yi was crying pitifully, so Wen Yan didn’t dare to delay anymore. He held his son tightly and went through the crowd, then entered a tea house.
After asking the shopkeeper, he got a private room. He suddenly stopped, inside the room there was a large round table and no other place with cover. Jiang Zhou also followed him from behind.
Jiang Zhou looked at him and thought it was a pity to part. But he must send Wen Yan back, it was really inconvenient for Xiao Yi, if they wanted later until the lantern festival was done. Everyone would be rushing into the boat and Wen Yan might not be able to get one. There would be too many people, Jiang Zhou was really worried.
When they arrived in the banks. People who had the same idea as them were crowding the place. Jiang Zhou had a sharp eye and saw uncle Yu was leaning on the boat from a distance. He said hello to him.
The two got on the boat, uncle Yu drove it to the Banshan Village and winked at Jiang Zhou suggestively, which made the man confused.
Uncle Yu wanted to him them, after thinking of a while he asked Wen Yan, “You came here a few days ago to buy sponge cake. How was it?”
Wen Yan held Xiao Yi’s hand tightly and looked at Jiang Zhou who was facing him too. He blushed at him and replied in a low voice, “Well...”
It was so embarrassing, he bought it secretly but was exposed!!
He thought about the good-looking one he bought and the ugly piece he received from Jiang Zhou. How could he didn’t know what the man meant?
This must be Zhou-ge, the man who he had been in love for more than ten years.
Even though there was still hesitation in his heart. He could still clearly receive Jiang Zhou’s hint and reassured himself.
Neither of the spoke, but there was something changed in the air and they arrived at their destination silently.
Jiang Zhou sent Wen Yan ashore and stood under the old locust tree. He watched Wen Yan took a step and called him, “Ah Yan.”
Wen Yan turned around hastily, “Huh?”
“Are you going to see the lantern festival again tomorrow?”
Wen Yan was hesitating, “Go...?”
Jiang Zhou leaned against the locust tree and smiled at him, “Then, I will pick you up?”
His eyes were clear and gentle. It was bright as the water in the river with moonlight shining through them.
Wen Yan felt his heart pounding. It was obviously autumn but he seemed to be immersed in the chirping of cicadas. He only heard himself saying ‘okay’ very softly then hurried to run away.
Uncle Yu stroked his beard and took a sip of his wine, he tutted at him, “Young people nowadays are really annoying.”
