Chapter 41 They Won't Bite, Unless They Can't Help It
Chapter 41 They Won't Bite, Unless They Can't Help It
The male student nodded hurriedly.
His name was Zhang Jiadong, a little fatty.
Twelve tall men wearing smiling masks were surrounding him in the middle.
"I heard it was because the senior in charge of recruitment publicity interned at the construction site for a few days, and when he came back, he dragged all the students from his department to flee with their buckets."
"Some of the civil engineering freshmen weren't convinced and ran to the construction site that day."
"They all ended up being coerced into shoveling gravel."
"After they came back, another half of the freshmen in the department fled."
"The tutors are almost going crazy."
Zhang Ye and Liu Qingqing were dumbfounded when they heard this, while Luo Xin had a look of relief on her face, seemingly with some after-fear as well.
Luo Xin had heard about civil engineering and fleeing with buckets before.
But to start fleeing even before graduation?
This was outrageously preposterous, as if her mother had opened the door to the absurd, and the preposterous had entered their home.
Thank goodness she hadn't chosen the civil engineering major and had instead embarked on the path of electrical engineering, otherwise wouldn't she have been shoveling gravel on a construction site by now?
She touched her undulating chest and let out a sigh of relief.
"Then what's your major?"
Zhang Ye looked at the little fatty in front of him with a curious expression and asked.
"Me?"
"I'm in civil engineering."
As soon as the little fatty finished speaking, Zhang Ye's face turned black as he said, "You've been playing with me, huh? Didn't you just say that almost all of the civil engineering freshmen have run away?"
"Yeah."
The little fatty still looked innocent.
"They all ran away."
"In my dorm, I'm the only one left."
Liu Qingqing suddenly asked, "Don't tell me your dad is a leader?"
The little fatty was startled upon hearing this.
"Eh!"
"How did you know!"
"My dad said, after graduating and working for a few months, I could become a project manager!"
He seemed like he had found someone who understood him, his chubby cheeks trembling with excitement, about to say more when he heard a voice.
"Who are you!"
"Let Zhang Jiadong go!"
"Otherwise, don't blame us for not being polite!"
The little fatty turned around and saw seven or eight survivors had come down the stairs behind him, among whom a big fatty was looking at him anxiously.
"Daddy!"
"You finally came!"
"I, I was about to be—"
The little fatty was about to get up and run over, but was directly pulled down to the ground by a large hand grabbing his clothes.
"Son!"
Seeing this, the big fatty's face immediately turned serious.
By the time those zombies realized what was happening, Zhang Ye and his companions had already moved far away.
The chubby kid was the one on door duty.
He peered out the window and saw three students, one of whom was a familiar-looking woman, heading towards the steps.
Wasn't that Liu Qingqing, the campus belle of Sanjiang University?
Also known as, the Tiger of the Judo Club.
The chubby kid remembered clearly, one of his roommates had joined the judo club in an attempt to chase after her, only to be sent to the hospital a few days later.
Thinking of this, he immediately opened the main door.
And then, he was caught.
"What's the matter?"
"You don't believe us?"
"Ask the chubby kid if you don't believe it; he's the one who opened the door for us."
Zhang Ye patted the chubby kid on the ground, his expression very serious, as if he wasn't the one who had kidnapped him.
Meanwhile, the woman suddenly noticed something.
Why were they all wearing masks?
And—
There wasn't the slightest movement in their chests!
How could that be possible!
Just then, the woman suddenly heard a scream.
She saw a man sitting on the ground in panic, holding a wooden stick studded with nails, half of a broken smiley face still hanging from it.
His other arm was being held tightly by the mask's owner.
Half of the face had been exposed.
"Zo—zombies!"
"They aren't human!"
"Save me, I don't want to die, I don't want to die!"
With the man's screams, foul smell spread underneath him and the survivors who had come downstairs instantly fell into chaos.
All those men wearing masks turned out to be zombies!
And there were twelve of them!
What to do!
Run?
The terrified survivors all turned their gazes to the woman in front, their eyes filled with pleading and hope.
The woman still looked calm, though sweat had broken out on her forehead.
Over a dozen zombies had actually gotten into the building.
What could she do?
Could she really just shout out loud, telling the zombies not to eat people?
But just as the woman was considering sacrificing herself to buy time for the others, a surprised voice suddenly rang in her ear:
"Why are you all so scared?"
"Our staff have all received professional training."
"I won't let them bite people, they definitely won't, unless—"
"They can't help themselves."
