Chapter 214
Chapter 214
Future Plans
“Licht! Ronny!”
“Meg!”@@@@
“Meg, good morning.”
After finishing breakfast and changing, I came to see them, as promised. They were apparently in separate rooms, but they were both waiting in Licht’s room when I came to see them.
“It’s been a while since I’ve seen you with those colors. It feels a bit strange.”
“My hair and eyes? But this is my normal, you know?”
“I know, but it’s weird when the colors are different from what I’m used to.”
I understand how he feels. I also thought it was a bit strange when I saw myself in the mirror earlier. It wasn’t as shocking as the first time I saw myself like this, but there was definitely a sense of discomfort.
“You still... can’t walk?”
Ronny asked this with a worried look, when I was gently set down on the sofa by Gil-san.
“Yeah, I just woke up yesterday... But I was surprised to hear I was asleep for 20 days! I’ll work hard on rehabilitation!”
“Meg, you’ll be fine. I’ll also do rehabilitation with you.”
Apparently, Ronny woke up after 5 days. He said Dwarves are known for their hardiness. Even so, that’s incredible. Even after Maryla-san used her power to accelerate the healing of those awful burns. So he’s back to normal and can run around now. And he’s even finished with rehabilitation!
As for Licht, he said he woke up 4 days before me, so he’s still in the middle of rehabilitation and can only walk slowly. It seems his wounds are completely healed, but that probably means he’s still exhausted. Ah, I’m the one who slept the longest...!
“Our rooms are next to each other, and I’m all better, so I came to Licht’s room.”
“I see~!”
“But it’s painful not being able to move properly. Guess we’re back to square one with training.”
It seemed Licht was thinking the same as me. The three of us chuckled. And then... our expressions clouded.
Because what came to mind was Ravi-san.
“Have you said your hellos? If so, let’s discuss what happens next, now that all three of you are here.”
Dr. Ludo, who’d come with us, said this, seeing our somber expressions. ...But...
“Well hellooo! I’ll be the one taking care of that!”
『You promised to bring my son back healthy! You broke that promise. You’re never using the magic circle again.』
『That’s correct, our duty was to bring your son back, safe and sound. And for that, we’ll completely heal his wounds here at our guild, and bring him back to you. That promise is still ongoing. Did we ever say it was complete?』
『Guh... Nn... !』
『Ah, and you’ll have to pay for his treatment. You’re not going to say you won’t pay, as a parent, are you?』
『N-No...』
『It’s fine if you just allow us to use the magic circle a few times until this incident is completely resolved, in place of payment. We’ll provide the magic power needed for the teleportation, so it’s quite cheap, wouldn’t you say?』
『No, that’s... !』
『Oh? Then we’ll have to ask for monetary compensation. It’ll be... about this much.』
『!? T-Tch, fine! Just fulfill your promise, quickly!!』
Adol-san’s incredible... or rather, his negotiating style’s like Saura-san’s! As expected of someone Saura-san recommends.
“So, basically, we can’t take you all the way to the human continent. I apologize.”
Ronny’s shoulders drooped a little at Saura-san’s words. But as expected of Saura-san. That wasn’t the end of it.
“So convince him yourself.”
“!”
“You have your own will. Don’t you? Just because he’s your father, the patriarch, that doesn’t mean you have to blindly obey everything he says.”
It seems like there are some complicated family issues going on with Ronny. Ronny’s father is probably a different type of overprotective than our guardians.
“If you want to go, then figure it out yourself. It’s easy. You have a mouth to talk, and you’ve made up your mind, so go for it!”
Ronny, after Saura-san’s encouragement, seemed to have made up his mind, and there was a clear aura of determination around him. His expression was also brighter.
“...Yeah, I got it. I’ll tell him myself.”
“Fufu, that’s the spirit. I wish you luck!”
Saura-san, hearing his strong reply, grinned and patted Ronny on the shoulder.
I’m cheering for you too, Ronny! I prayed in my heart that he’d succeed.
