Chapter 90
Chapter 90
“It’s just you, making me nervous.”
I meant to smile reassuringly, but it seemed to have only increased Hans’s anxiety.
It wasn’t the right time to discuss it. It was a strategy that I couldn’t reveal to Hans just yet.
I waved my hand dismissively.
“Anyway, just trust me. You don’t need to worry.”
“It’s hard to trust when you’re so cryptic...”
It seemed I hadn’t managed to instill much faith in Hans as a partner.
He had trusted me so well when it came to strategizing with Jamon. But now, he seemed to grumble only in words.
“I’d like to meet the others while I’m here. I wonder if everyone’s too busy.”
“If they know you’re here, they’d drop everything and come running.”
I had expected that much. That’s how fandom works.
As I turned to leave, Hans caught me.
“Are you going to tell them too?”
“About what?”
“That you’re doing your last broadcast soon.”
“Of course.”
It was only polite to give them a heads-up.
I wanted to see their reactions. I did have a certain affection for them, after all.
Hans frowned at my casual demeanor.
“You’re acting strange.”
“How so?”
“...You’ve become heartless.”
“I’ve always been like this.”
“That’s true, but...”
Hans hesitated before responding.
“I thought you had changed a lot. But it feels like you’re back to square one.”
“What does that mean?”
I chuckled softly.
Hans was perceptive. But for now, it couldn’t be helped.
“Go back to your work. I’ll be back soon.”
“......”
“Isn’t that a bit too dependent?”
“Without your broadcasts, I can’t work! I’m going on strike!”
I sighed. If Carrot was reacting this way, the other angels would likely respond similarly. It seemed they had more affection for my broadcasts than I thought.
I hadn’t even told Hans. Given Carrot’s persistent whining, it seemed I couldn’t just let it go.
“Calm down.”
I spoke in a calm voice, and Carrot finally stopped.
“Though I’m quitting the broadcast, I’ll still continue.”
“......?”
Carrot looked utterly bewildered.
That was understandable. My statement was inherently contradictory.
“What do you mean......?”
“The details are a secret. But it’s not like you won’t see me at all, so don’t worry.”
“...I’ll trust you, since it’s you.”
Fortunately, it seemed Carrot had that much faith in me.
I grabbed Carrot’s shoulder.
“Now then.”
“Huh?”
“You know what you need to do, right?”
“...Ah! Yeah, I think I get it!”
Turning towards the door and pointing, he shouted.
“Go, Carrot! Spread the news quickly!”
“Leave it to me!”
Carrot dashed out immediately. It was always a good match with Carrot.
After the commotion, I was left alone in the office.
“Maybe I should take a break.”
Now that I had handed off my duties to Carrot, I considered doing some paperwork sorting, something I used to do.
While I was sorting the papers, there was a knock on the door.
Without waiting for a response, the door opened.
The person who entered was Ian, holding a stack of documents.
“...Oh.”
Ian’s face registered a moment of surprise upon seeing me. It was the same reaction everyone had.
