Chapter 728 - 767: Outmaneuvered Again
"Ah!" Andrew Johnson suddenly bellowed, mustering all his strength and launched a series of frenzied attacks on John Brown. These were his most formidable moves, which usually guaranteed the opponent’s death. However, today he lacked the confidence to kill James Brown. These moves were merely to force James Brown back as much as possible. His prediction was accurate, as John Brown had no choice but to retreat several steps under the relentless assault, barely avoiding Andrew Johnson’s onslaught.
Andrew Johnson inwardly lamented his misfortune. Michael Hall was indeed powerful; even his strongest techniques couldn’t faze him. Knowing he was powerless to kill James Brown, he realized it was time to flee. He dashed toward the door, gripping his long K Sword, and swung it fiercely.
This strike was precise and fierce, cleaving through the door seam and breaking the lock outside. He didn’t even bother pushing the door—he crashed into it directly.
Earlier, he noticed that although the door was sturdy, once the lock was destroyed, he could crash through it with full force. Then, he could escape into the darkness with confidence that, given his speed and agility level, John Brown wouldn’t catch him.
"No!" John Brown shouted as he rushed but failed to catch up.
"Haha... farewell, Michael Hall!"
"Boom!" Andrew Johnson laughed triumphantly, slamming his body against the door, which flew open. He leapt out through the gap.
"Boom!" Another dull thud resounded, followed by Andrew Johnson’s scream of pain. He staggered back inside, clutching his face, his body swaying unsteadily.
With a swift step, John Brown dashed forward, pinching a few joints on Andrew Johnson’s body. Andrew Johnson’s arms were instantly dislocated, and John Brown burst into a joyful laugh.
Andrew Johnson’s arms hung limply, revealing a face that looked like it had fallen from a six-story building and hit the ground—his nose was flattened and his face bloodied, truly a pitiful sight.
"You... you..." Andrew Johnson stuttered, repeating the word "you" twice as blood spurted from his mouth.
It wasn’t due to injury but from sheer anger. If John Brown had injured him, it wouldn’t have been so embarrassing. However, when he dashed out the door, he hadn’t expected another steel plate behind it. Under the assumption that outside was an open yard, and rushing out from a brightly lit warehouse into darkness, he thought it was normal. So, he charged fiercely and swiftly.
Upon sensing an obstruction, Andrew Johnson didn’t have time to react, resulting in him crashing squarely into the steel plate.
Andrew Johnson was a formidable expert, but his expertise backfired. Charging out with such speed and strength meant the impact force against the steel plate was significant.
Though human, colliding with a steel plate wouldn’t end well. It was fortunate he wasn’t killed on the spot. Coupled with the anger from John Brown, he fainted on the ground.
John Brown dusted off his hands, and as the steel plate outside was removed, four people rushed in, nodding to John Brown and taking Andrew Johnson away.
They were Lucy Campbell’s bodyguards. Although they had trouble dealing with a healthy Andrew Johnson, handling a half-disabled one posed no problem. They would interrogate him, and John Brown would get the information without personally doing anything.
After picking up the heavily protected Lucy Campbell, the two switched cars and drove towards the city.
"Why are you so happy?" Lucy Campbell noticed John Brown’s smile while driving and asked cheerfully.
John Brown recounted the incident of Andrew Johnson crashing into the steel plate, making Lucy burst into laughter. After a while, she chided, "You’re quite wicked, making this guy feel so frustrated. If he had simply lost to you, it’d be different, but you tricked him in the end."
John Brown chuckled, "When dealing with enemies, it’s about winning with minimal loss. That’s why I’ve stayed unscathed all these years. Knowing the opponent is strong and confronting them head-on results in mutual harm, which isn’t worthwhile."
"You’re not of ancient times. If you were born then, you’d be an overlord, possibly conquering lands and becoming a king."
John Brown laughed, "Thank you, thank you. If I were born in ancient times, I’d marry all of you with no objections."
"It’s not impossible now. Get a nationality that allows polygamy, and you can do just that."
John Brown shook his head, "I don’t want that. I’m still an SSUP People. Suddenly becoming a fake foreigner feels uncomfortable."
Lucy admired him more, responding softly, "It doesn’t matter. You don’t aspire to be a government official. Those in office fear being caught, while as an ordinary person with mistresses, it’s your ability, and no one can criticize you."
John Brown smiled wryly, "That’s not an issue for me, but what about you? You all have families. If you stay with me illegitimately, how do I face your families? It’s not just you; your families would face criticism and pressure."
Lucy placed her hand over John’s on the gear shift, speaking softly, "I’m not afraid. I don’t care what my family thinks. If they disagree, I’ll give them the Sanker Family’s assets just to be with you."hey felt deeply fulfilled. Overcoming their hesitations, they shared without reservation, seeking each other’s pleasure, creating an indescribable euphoria.
Dressed again, they set off back home. Lucy closed her eyes, "James, I truly look forward to your full embrace. It’ll be wonderful."
John responded emotionally, "It will be. I can’t wait to transform you from a girl into a woman."
They exchanged a knowing smile, everything understood in silence.
