The Bigshot's Superstar Wife

Chapter 49: Theranos V

Chapter 49: Theranos V

The casual way Mors proposed it left her both surprised and suspicious. He must be hiding something from me. But I’m still glad it’s a vacation we’re going.

"Where exactly were you thinking of going?" she asked cautiously, folding her arms across her chest. "And don’t say something like a battlefield disguised as a vacation spot."

Mors chuckled softly, shaking his head. "No battlefields, I promise. I was thinking of Theranos V. It’s known for its floating gardens and bioluminescent beaches. Peaceful. Relaxing."

Athena’s eyes widened slightly. She’d heard of Theranos V, a planet famous for its breathtaking natural beauty and unique ecosystems.

The thought of strolling through glowing forests or walking along beaches that shimmered under the stars was undeniably tempting.

"Theranos V..." she murmured, her gaze softening as her imagination began to wander.

"It would be exciting. What do you think?"

"I’ve read about it, but never thought I’d get the chance to visit. Are you sure you’re not making this up?"

Mors smirked, leaning forward slightly. "Do I look like the kind of man who plans fake vacations?"

Athena let out a short laugh, shaking her head. "Honestly? You look like the kind of man who doesn’t take vacations at all."

He tilted his head, conceding with a faint smile. "Fair point. But I’m making an exception this time. It’ll be good for both of us."

She hesitated for only a moment longer before a small grin tugged at her lips. "Alright, Major General. I’m in! But if this turns into some secret mission, I’m holding you personally responsible."

"Deal," Mors said, rising from his seat. "Pack what you need. We’ll leave tomorrow."

So fast? Athena watched him stride out of the dining room, her mind racing with both excitement and curiosity.

A vacation to Theranos V, an interstellar getaway with breathtaking landscapes and the promise of peace. She couldn’t deny the thrill bubbling within her. I can finally roam.

As she finished her tea, a thought struck her. If Mors was serious about unwinding, perhaps she might finally see a different side of him. The idea was intriguing, to say the least.

Multiple Identity Disorder. Sounds funny...

The following day, Athena and Mors boarded a private spacecraft from the Mors estate’s hangar. The facilities are truly amazing!

Once they disembarked, Athena took a deep breath, savoring the crisp, slightly sweet scent of the air. This planet also doesn’t contain heavy radiation...

It was unlike anything she’d experienced before, a mix of earthiness and an almost floral undertone. This is way better than Halcyon. And it feels a lot more safer.

"It’s incredible," she said, turning to Mors. "I can’t believe places like this actually exist."

Mors adjusted the strap of the small pack slung over his shoulder and offered a rare, genuine smile. "You haven’t seen anything yet. Come on."

They ventured into the forest, following a trail that seemed to glow faintly underfoot.

The trees around them were massive, their trunks twisted and ancient, yet alive with pulsating light.

Bioluminescent vines hung like curtains, and pools of water glimmered like liquid stardust.

Athena couldn’t help but reach out to touch one of the glowing vines. It was cool to the touch, and the light seemed to pulse in response to her presence.

"Careful," Mors warned, his tone light. "Not everything here is as friendly as it looks."

Athena grinned. "Noted."

As they walked deeper into the forest, she felt her tension slowly easing. For the first time in what felt like ages, the weight of her recent battles and worries began to lift.

Unbeknownst to her, Mors stole a glance at her, his expression unreadable as he watched her take in the wonders of the forest.

"Maybe this trip wasn’t such a bad idea after all," he murmured under his breath.

"What was that?" Athena asked, glancing back at him.

"Nothing," he replied smoothly. "Let’s keep moving. There’s a clearing ahead where we can set up camp."

Athena raised an eyebrow. "Camp? Are you telling me there’s no five-star resort waiting for us on this luxury vacation?"

Mors smirked. "You said you wanted to enjoy the interstellar era. This is part of the experience."

She rolled her eyes but couldn’t hide her smile as they continued down the glowing path, the beauty of Theranos V surrounding them.
