The Animagus: From Hunter to Monster

Chapter 43 Weekly Quest Unlocked

Chapter 43 Weekly Quest Unlocked

Buji leaned back on his bed, staring at the blue screen that floated above him. After much deliberation, he made his decisions for the points he had earned.

"Agility should take one point," he said and the system did as it was told immediately.

[Agility: 91/1000 (+1 point)]

"Uhm... strength should take 4, CR (Cognitive Response) should take 5 points. Same with Healing.

The system chimed in response to the instructions given to it by Buji.

[Strength: 64/1000 (+4 points)]

[CR: 85/1000 (+5 points)]

[Healing Factor: 9/150 (+5 points)]

As soon as the points were allocated, a rush of warmth surged through his body, leaving him feeling slightly energized.

He clenched his fists, noticing the subtle increase in strength. His mind felt sharper too, and the dull ache in his muscles from earlier had almost vanished.

"Well, well, well. What can I say? The system is really, really..."

Just as he was marveling at the changes, a new notification appeared.

[Clear a Dormant dungeon all by yourself]

[Duration: 3 days to go]

Buji blinked at the words, rereading them to make sure he wasn't imagining things.

"What? By myself? In three days?" he muttered with a tinge of disbelief in his voice.

A dormant dungeon according to the monster world is equivalent to a D-rank dungeon of the human world. Even, judging from what had happened in the A-Rank dungeon, he was not certain of the kind of monsters he was going to be facing.

Not to talk of the monster dungeon itself.

He wanted to summon his book, but on second thought, decided not to. But to think of it, the dungeons of the monster world will be far more difficult to raid than the human world. The idea of tackling one alone, even the lowest ranked, seemed absurd.

"That's right."

Buji got drawn back to the time they were in the hospital. Kira had told him that he owed her his experience in the dungeon raid. She had said that she wanted to know the truth.

'What truth?'

Waking to the present, he had returned not to find the book he left on his desk, the SEA book. And now, Kira is telling him about books that contain dungeon strategies. She even added that the books might interest him.

And it really will.

'Don't tell me she has found out a little about me. Or, Buji stop the thinking. She has the strategy book because she also went for a raid.'

"That's right."

"What's right?" Kira asked.

"Nothing really, just a bit perturbed at what's in our front."

Kira and Buji had reached the dining hall, and both of them paused in their tracks. The hall was unrecognizable. What was usually a simple space for meals had been transformed into a lavishly decorated venue.

"Yeah. That's right... wait, is that the right word to use?" Kira commented.

Buji paid no attention. His eyes moved from the streamers hung from the ceiling to the tables which were adorned with intricate centerpieces. Then, there was the soft, glowing light that cast a warm ambiance over the room.

At the students' section, there was murmur and whispers. Buji could tell they were all as shocked and surprised as he and Kira. They were excited too. It wasn't every day that the dining hall was dressed up like this.

"What's going on?" Buji asked, glancing at Kira.

She shrugged. "Is that not a rhetorical question you're asking? You and I both have the same answer."

"Yeah right, we have no idea what's going on."

Just as Buji and Kira stepped inside to go and have a sit, they noticed the instructors sitting at the front of the dining hall. Their presence only added sense to the occasion.

Something was really going on.

"Look, they are here too," Buji said to Kira. "What do you think?"

"I saw. Well, let's find out..."
