Chapter 30 Strategy with Four—Sacrificial Ambush
Chapter 30 Strategy with Four—Sacrificial Ambush
The articulate female voice from before warned the team that they had two remaining hours to complete the raid. This warning left everyone, including Kirex shaken.
Two more hours and they still have a long way to go.
"If we're not able to complete this raid, what will happen?" Buji inquired to know.
"First of all, the lives of those in the dungeon will be at risk. We are all going to die," Tyga explained, fear could be traced in her voice.
"Not only that. The dungeon boss will automatically be granted the authority to release more of its kind into the world. And this dungeon will level up to a rank higher than its current rank," Lian added to Tyga's explanation.
"And the treasures?" Buji asked, tilting his head to face Kirex.
"We will lose all. Everything," Kirex answered.
"Are you for real, Buji? How can you value treasures more than life?" Tyga asked furiously.
"I guess everybody has their preferences," Buji started, and with a broad smile said to Tyga. "Besides, I never said I valued treasures to life, don't quote me wrong. I was only asking questions to clear my confusion."
'But to be honest, I need those treasures. But I still need to be alive to get them. I guess this is why the scale of preference is important in our everyday dealings.'
"We will go against them, the chess players. We're going to be white," Buji said with a sudden confidence.
"But we're four only, and they are complete. They have their knights, rooks, queen, bishops, and pawns. How can we overcome them? Especially with their weapons," said Lian.
"We can win against them. We just need a strategy," Buji said.
"Muhahahaha!" Tyga laughed out loud. "Why then don't you use it to always save yourself?" she teased.
"Buji might be weak in strength, but rich in knowledge. Emra always says that he was a brain box on another level," Kirex attested.
"Well, well, we're running out of time. I know I might be the weakest here, or the youngest but you have to listen to me. You have to listen to this strategy," Buji explained.
"So, what assurance do we have this will work out," Tyga questioned.
"Let's proportionate it to 40% probability. The possibility can be weighed on a smaller scale but I always believe that if we face our possibilities, it can become a reality, no matter how degenerative it might seem."
While, I, the queen will open the doors for you to make these movements.
After coordinating our attack, the next step will be the force the weakness on Black's position. We will target the key pawns, that's those protecting the king on the kingside.
I will pressure the pawn structures and attack key squares. Tyga will aim for the diagonals that can pierce the Black defense.
Lian, you will eliminate any crucial defender, preventing the king from being checked.
'Even though your survival is under probability. You are the sacrifice Lian, but you can still survive. Maybe, we can tell from the Black movement.'
If you're able to eliminate any of the crucial defenders, I will move to an open space where I can check the king. Let's say square F6 or H6. If Black tries to block with a piece, Tyga or Kirex will move to another open space that can ensure no escape..."
Buji paused for a while, and said, "Even though we don't know their movement, 40% of this strategy is going to help us."
Of course, he didn't tell them the main point of the strategy. He didn't let them know it was fully known as Sacrificial Ambush strategy. One of them, either way, might have to go down to ensure they win the king.
And that person will either be the rook or the knight. The rook has more possibilities anyway.
Just like Buji expected, he got a question unexpectedly from Lian. He had expected Kirex to be the one to ask the question.
"And what if their movement weakens our strategy," Lian asked.
"It will try to, but we will make adjustments too. That's why I'm going to be the queen," Buji answered.
'I guess this reply is fair enough. I didn't lie. We are going to use the ambush strategy except I didn't make them know the kind of ambush it was going to be.'
"Did you consider their weapons while making this your strategy," Tyga asked.
"Of course. I'm not ready to die," Buji answered.
"If we're ready... let's start."
