Chapter Four: Lessons of the Mortal and Divine
The first light of dawn pierced through the dense canopy of the Forbidden Forest, casting golden rays upon the serene land. The air carried the fragrance of fresh dew and blooming flora, an untouched paradise shielded from the chaos of the outside world. Amidst this tranquility, a lone figure sat cross-legged atop a colossal boulder, his golden eyes closed in deep concentration.
Long Tian, now five years old, had begun to grasp the fundamentals of qi manipulation. His delicate yet resilient form pulsed with latent power, the blood of dragons and phoenixes coursing through his veins. Each breath he took harmonized with the flow of the world's energy, though true mastery remained elusive.
A short distance away, two breathtaking women stood in silent observation. Feng Huang and Long Xue, now in their human forms, bore expressions of both pride and amusement. Though they had shielded their son within the Forbidden Forest, they knew the world beyond would one day call to him.
“Tian’er, your progress surpasses expectation,” Feng Huang remarked, her golden-embroidered robe fluttering with the breeze.@@@@
Long Tian’s golden irises flickered open, frustration evident in his youthful yet determined face. “Mother Feng, Mother Xue, I can feel the qi flowing all around me, but... it’s difficult to command.”
Long Xue, her silver hair shimmering under the morning light, stepped forward and placed a gentle hand on his head. “Because you are trying to seize it like a trapped beast. Qi is not meant to be shackled—it must be invited.”
Feng Huang elaborated, “Strength can be physical, like a dragon’s might. It can be wisdom, like a fox’s cunning. And it can be presence the ability to inspire loyalty and command respect.”
Long Tian clenched a fistful of grass as he absorbed their words. “Then... how do I become strong?”
Long Xue met his gaze with unwavering seriousness. “Through cultivation.”
Feng Huang traced glowing symbols in the air. “The path is long and arduous, but for now, you need only focus on your foundation.”
Long Tian met their gazes, his resolve unwavering. “Then I will walk this path, no matter how long it takes!”
The two women exchanged a glance before embracing their son.
The world had yet to realize the storm that would one day shake its very foundation.
