Chapter 1080 1083: Confusion and Understanding (2)
"Huh? So quickly?" Samuel was stunned when he sensed the sudden movement from the passage.
Why is it faster than before?
Riya looked at the rank 10 magic beast that came out of the passage and silently used the formation plate in her hand and moved towards the rank 10 magic beasts' side.
Samuel frowned when he saw this.
Has Riya recovered her mana?
Swish!
Riya's eyes focused on the rank 10 magic beast in front of her and her hand moved quickly to form the formation that she had memorized by heart because she kept on using it repeatedly.
"Space Splitting Formation."
Slash!
Mana surged and directly cut the rank 10 magic beast in front of her into two.
Riya was silent and looked at her own hand before letting out a bitter laugh, "Green Planet's Consciousness... you're very cruel."
...
Long distance away, Continent Y
*rumble*
The returnees on Continent Y didn't have much thought about what happened in the other areas. They also didn't know about the few things that Riya noticed when she heard about what happened in the other areas.
After all, these returnees didn't even have any access of the outside world.
They could only focus on what's in front of them right now.
Though their condition was not very good, but none of them was willing to back down.
But so far...
The soldiers were busy bombarding the area with the bombs and nuclear weapon, making it impossible for them to interfere.
"It's really annoying to think that we're being treated as nuisance over here," Navi mumbled.
On one side, they could rest to a certain degree.
But on another side, the exposure of the radiation was slowly hurting them and neither Navi or Nalan felt good.
Unfortunately, they couldn't leave this place and no matter what thy were thinking of, they had to stay here.
It was frustrating.
Both of them didn't want to be here, but they had to just because they couldn't leave the place and someone or something was forcing them to stay.
"It's better than being ordered to fight the magic beasts," Nalan said calmly. "You don't think that you can deal with those magic beasts on your own, right?"
"Ah..."
Since Nalan's skill have a long cooldown period before he could use it again just like the skills in game, Navi and Nalan stopped using it.
Anyway, the magic beasts were basically being bombarded by the nuclear weapon.
The few magic beasts that got close to them and were still alive were killed by Navi easily with her magic.
None of them were that strong, so the two of them could still hold on.
But how long?
They had no idea.
"How long does it take for the grand magic beasts' tide to subside back in Afirer Kingdom?" Nalan suddenly asked.
Navi was stunned when she heard Nalan's question and frowned. "Historically, it would take around a year... but do you really think that with Green Planet's size, it's possible for us to stop it in such a short period of time?"
The people in Afirer Kingdom were much more powerful than them and it was basically impossible for the Green Planet to compare with them.
This was something that the two of them knew very well.
And saying this was only stating the fact.
"Tsk." Navi knew this and it was also because of this that she didn't want to stay here and be trapped by the damn invisible barrier.
If only they could leave, she would have stayed as far away from this place as possible.
She really didn't want to be here anymore.
Having herself being blocked by an invisible barrier, Navi couldn't leave and had to stay behind just for the sake of it.
"Be patient." Nalan looked at the passage in front of him, not knowing what he actually had to do.
The two of them have long depended on each other in many occasion. Added with the fact that their abilities were basically complimenting each other, they were a good team.
But it would not change the fact that Nalan's decision in the beginning was mainly because he wanted to protect Navi.
After coming to the Green Planet, Nalan walked through this path because he's familiar with it.
It's not like he had to...
But he knew how to walk on this path that he had treaded before.
And being able to protect Navi behind him made Nalan felt that it was good enough. He did want to get stronger and reached the peak, but Nalan had long known that it would be impossible.
His mindset was simply not good enough for him to truly walk until the end.
This path didn't seem to be the most suitable path for him.
Boom!
Seeing that the bombardment was lessening, Nalan raised his head. "It seems that the higher ups are starting to run out of ammunition."
"...And you're happy about it?" Navi asked speechlessly.
If Continent Z were in trouble, they wouldn't have an easy time either.
"Ah, not really." Nalan simply didn't care too much about the people on Continent Y and so on. His life was rather bland and Nalan didn't think too much about it.
From the very beginning, Nalan has little emotion and he never thought too much about it.
*rumble*
The passage shook once more, this time with an even more fervor than before. The soldiers couldn't see it for they were too far away from the passage entrance. They set up the walls so far away because they were afraid.
And the bombardment of the nuclear bombs not long ago had destroyed a large area of this place.
Many magic beasts have fallen.
Only the three returnees, who were the nearest to the passage, could sense this ominous presence.
"Hah... you got to be kidding me." Ami looked at the passage in front of her, wanting to curse out loud.
She thought that having so many magic beasts who could do soul attacks was already bad enough.
But no.
It was obvious that worse things were about to come.
