Chapter 646: Claudia’s Problem

Chapter 646: Claudia’s Problem "Cheers for our good result today!"

"Cheers!"

Just like any other tournament, after the round was over, a group of Indonesian players would always gather at the Asian restaurant nearby to enjoy dinner. They were also adored by the owner of the restaurant, who was impressed by them being the model citizens and didn’t even touch a single drop of alcohol for the entire night.

Tonight was not so much different. The owner of the Chinese restaurant was so happy to bring out his best dishes for them, letting a bunch of teenagers, far from their homeland, enjoy the warmth and comfort of the food they could offer.

However, the group was incomplete, what with some of them deciding to go straight to the hotel room. One of them was, of course, Dita Karenza, who felt like she was a little bit too old to join their group.

"I tell you what, that is just a cheap excuse." Laysa snorted while slurping the glass noodles in her bowl. "Even Sister Medina didn’t have a problem joining us, and she is older than Sister Dita. I bet sister Dita is just embarrassed after losing the game today."

"Well, it is such a coincidence that my three ’friends’," Claudia air-quoted the word ’friend’ with a hint of sarcasm here. "Also decided to enjoy dinner on their own. That bitch is probably trying to cheer up the boys after losing pathetically today." Said the girl as she stabbed another meatball and stuffed it into her mouth.

The bitch that she mentioned, of course, was Devi. Indeed, besides Dita, Sheva’s three students also didn’t join the group, opting to go on their own. As for the reason behind Claudia’s hostility, well, besides the fact that she and Devi were bittersweet rivals, the girl was still fuming after her enemy stole the limelight from the others.

Yeah, after knowing that Devi managed to get a draw against Aryan Chopra, somehow, all of Sheva’s attention shifted to the girl, as if the win that Claudia and her sister earned didn’t mean a thing. They won, for God’s sake! Devi just got a draw!

"I said it with a good intention, though." Bagas suddenly spoke, still trying to put a lot of things inside his big mouth. "Why are you being so bitchy about Devi? I mean, she has never provoked you, right? You sound like a bitter old woman, Claudia, and that doesn’t look good on you."

This time, not just Claudia, but all the people at the table choked simultaneously, looking at Bagas in disbelief. Sheva himself just felt the corner of his mouth twitching right now.

’Yeah, trust him to drop a bomb like that so nonchalantly. How in the hell is he not afraid of making more enemies?’ Sheva chuckled wryly.

The girl in question had her face purple in fury. However, before she could say anything else, the big sister also chimed in.

"Yes, Ia, even Dad and Mom said the same, remember?" Anna said, her voice was full of concern. "You cannot provoke everyone just because you don’t like them. You don’t know who will help you in the future, so it is better to make more friends than enemies..."

Laysa, in a rare moment of seriousness, couldn’t help but add, "A part of this might be my fault for indulging you too much, letting you call me a bitch, a hoe, or any bad words to look down on women. However, Bagas is right, Ia. Your behavior, to be blunt here, is disgusting. I don’t care if you have the biggest mood swing in the world, but you have to keep your mouth in check. Who knows what kind of people you have provoked so far?"

For that, Sheva also nodded in agreement, even though he himself didn’t join the discussion directly. He was never good in this kind of confrontation, just following along with a quiet nod. However, when they talked about this, Sheva also remembered so many occasions where Claudia would treat him like the biggest scumbag on earth just because he dated her sister.

"I—No, I don’t—I cannot—" The girl stuttered, was too speechless to utter any coherent sentence. However, tears also started to build up in the corner of her eyes, threatening to fall freely into her cheek.

"We know that it is too much, but you know that we do this because we love you, right?" Anna’s voice was so soft as she patted her sister’s hand gently. "I am not asking for a drastic change here. You don’t even have to apologize to Devi straightaway. However, you have to be better, Ia... Just treat the other people like any normal human being, not someone whose status is below you. Can you do that, please?"

Hearing a hint of pleading in her sister’s tone, Claudia’s gaze also softened, and while she didn’t say anything, the little girl nodded silently, whispering something that sent relief over her big sister’s face.

Sheva himself couldn’t help but sigh, enjoying the sweet cola in his hand while glancing at the two siblings who were still hugging each other on the other side of the table. He also sent a big thumbs up to his best friend for creating this atmosphere. He didn’t know why Bagas suddenly picked up on Claudia, but for whatever reason, it worked like a charm.

"Anyway, I need to go first." He said after checking the time on his phone. "Devi and the others want to ask me something."

Somehow, in this tournament, he became way busier than before. Not only did he have to help the girls in front of him, but he also had to balance it with his students. Not that he complained, of course, but Higo just hoped that the situation could be a little bit better.

’At least, I just want them to see eye-to-eye and have dinner together rather than creating two polarizing groups like this...’ He sighed once again, but this time in exasperation.

To his surprise, though, before he could go, Sheva was stopped by Claudia. The little girl looked so nervous and hesitant, enough to make him stop and wait.

In the end, after an internal struggle, the youngest girl finally uttered in a voice barely whisper, "Can you say sorry to Devi for me?"
