CHAPTER 367 - A gift for the hero of humanity.
CHAPTER 367 - A gift for the hero of humanity.
It was peak noon time, a time when Eric Reeves, the hero of the human empire, usually trains with his sword.
Today, however, the guy was feeling a bit itchy from the inside.
It was as if something important was going to happen today, or something very precious for him was going to be taken away from him.
This made him make a lot of mistakes during the training sessions, resulting in a few smacks of a wooden long sword on his head.
But no matter how hard he tried, he just couldn't focus, so by his master's order, he returned back to the castle, hoping to have a good rest.
'Maybe that will calm me down.'
Or so he thought before his senses started tingling.
It was his simp sense—a sense that let him know that something was happening to Ann.
The moment he felt that tingling was the moment Alex had jumped into Ann's room from her window, and Eric had tried to move toward Ann's room just then, but...
"Why don't you just let her be?"
A voice was heard from behind, causing Eric to turn around, only to see a girl with North Asian looks; sharp eyes, a small, cute nose, and a cute contour.
Her mid-length black hair was flowing down her back, and her black eyes filled with dissatisfaction and jealousy were staring at Eric with an annoyed look.
She was Sumire, one of the girls that were summoned along with Eric to this world, and the jealousy in her eyes was not directed at Eric; rather, they were directed at Ann, who always gave Eric a cold shoulder.
In just around a month, Sumire had started to like Eric, and if not for her ideal type being turned into the demon lord, she would've already confessed her feelings to Eric and been madly in love with him.
But she still didn't like how Ann got all of Eric's attention, yet she ignored him like one would ignore a rabid dog.

"Sumire..."
Eric, on the other hand, had no words to retort.
He knew that he was being too much by persistently chasing after Ann, but he just couldn't let go of her.
She was his first love—the one whom he fell for the moment he saw her.
He just couldn't let go of his feelings for her.
"Don't make that face, Eric..."
Sumire, however, just sighed as she saw Eric's face turning into that of what a sad puppy would make when their master kicked them out of the house; her palm moved up to touch the guy's cheek as she continued.
"J- Just get some sleep; I will talk to her once you wake up...
Maybe she will listen to my words as a girl."
Sumire bit her lips as she patted Eric's cheeks, gesturing for the guy to move toward his own room, which was situated on the other side of the hall.
"Sigh..."
Eric, who heard Sumire's words, sighed as he still couldn't push the bad premonition he felt out of his head.
But he still nodded his head, a bit happy about how Sumire was willing to help him out with Ann.
"Thank you, Sumire."
But even after a while, he got no response from the other side, causing his unease to heighten.
"Ann, please answer me if you are awake; this is worrying me."
He spoke again, urging for Ann to open the door as the more the time passed, the more his restlessness got elevated.
Right now, it was as if he could see Ann moving away from him, causing him to voice out again.
"If you don't answer in 3 seconds, I will assume that you are in trouble and barge into the room!"
His voice raised a bit as he clutched the doorknob of Ann's door.
He could hear the gates of the other members of his part opening, and he could perceive their confused and suspicious gazes boring into him, but he ignored them.
"3!"
He just went on with the countdown, and although he felt that his actions would do him more bad than good, he still continued.
His actions, however, caused Ann, who was on her bed with Alex and Noctura, to frown hard.
"Shut—!"
She tried to curse at the guy as a cold light flashed through her eyes, but Alex's palm covered her lips, causing her voice to get cut short.
Her cold gaze turned into confusion as she turned to look into Alex's eyes, but then she sighed.
The playful look in Alex's eyes made it clear that he was cooking something up in his mind, and she was very much right about it.
"Let's give the human empire's hero a big gift before we leave."
Alex smiled at Ann as he said that, and Ann, after staring into Alex's eyes for a millisecond, which seemed like an hour for both of them, nodded her head.
"Good."
Alex nodded his head and started to elevate himself up in the air, along with Ann, before he touched the wall of the room.
"2!"
Eric, on the other hand, went on with his count, his tone more hurried as he could feel his heart rate increasing.
It was as if it were now or never, so he quickly added the last count right after the two.
"1!"
Then he took a deep breath and kicked open the gate.
Alex, however, was frowning as he stared at the wall.
He was trying to do something, but it didn't happen, causing him to frown really hard, a certain glint passing through his eyes.
*Boom*
Just then, the door of the room burst open, and Eric Reeves, the hero of humanity, entered the room, only to have his eyes wide open in terror as he saw Ann in the arms of the demon lord, staring at him with 'fear' and 'horror' in her eyes.
"STOPP!!!"
His body moved with all of its might, wanting to save Ann, but the moment he felt the gaze of the demon lord on his body, he froze.
The demon lord, on the other hand, had a frown on his face as he waved his hand, causing a bright portal to appear in front of him before he stepped into the portal, leaving the frozen hero to his demise.
