Chapter 307: Turn Of Tide
Chapter 307: Turn Of Tide
A massive beast of decay pulled itself out of the crater caused by its own creation, a mound of arms and legs bursting out of its own misshapen body, Ynigós stood back up, having been thrown a fair distance away by the creature’s apparition, and from the get go, he could tell that despite making use of one of dracula’s tricks, this deformed mass was not Loimos himself, he had most certainly reformed and gone to conceal himself.@@@@
This beast was charged with his festering death however, and was more than willing to fight, grasping onto the ground, fingers digging through the stone, it threw itself up in the air, crashing down toward the living, its full wretched weight soon to shake Millipolo.
"Going for the two on one?!" preparing to destroy the creation of rot right as it reached him, it was sliced into four equal parts well before he even touched it, flowing through the air, reaching the master of rot, standing right in the middle of a nearby street to the living’s left, his body twitching uncontrollably as the effects of devouring life had left a clear mark upon him.
Wielding the two scythes, the purple glow shifting in brilliance, bringing the death force contained within the rot abomination back to him, attempting to smother the remnant effects of life force within him, swinging the scythes with poise, launching slashes of death congealed with all else that was possible before raising his arms upward, reciting words in death tongue, the distinct feel of arts and magic weaving together were felt, but unlike before, death was wielded freely, with so much more finesse.
A dark circle, a portal appeared from behind, waves of death slamming into the death hunter, forcing him to defend and stay still as it was like being caught by a potent burst of winds, trying to fester upon him, he had to fight back against it first thing first.
’Well... Fuck’
He was smiling, but he felt like cursing, this serpentine Loimos really had an answer to everything, and it wasn’t just brute forcing, he genuinely had a bottomless list of tricks to many situations, and now that he had earned access to festering death thanks to exposure to devouring life, he could apply those tricks with much more ferocity, not to mention, that it seemed like Loimos had gotten new ideas with this learning.
This portal was not a simple thing, its edges held that worn-out gold from before, death force pouring out from within, tendrils of pure dark decay inserted themselves into four growing piles of rot, taking shape into four beings.
It was not a two on one, it was a five on one.
Loimos’s was longer and had a thinner blade than the typical one, his fighting style was not so different than before, only that the two scythes served as the core of it, rarely disappearing for long as he shifted his form and shape.
His weapons expanding and shrinking, with the support of the four horsemen, Loimos had a clear advantage, they allowed him to not receive counterattack when the effect of the critical strikes caused his body to fail, pulse of devouring life would sometime flourish within, forcing him to cease his action and deal with it.
Despite this, the tide was turning to his favour, forced to always avoid the pale rider’s attacks, forced to always interrupted the black rider’s, his body was assailed by the arrows of the white riders, his body battered by the red rider, leaving him open for Loimos to swing his harvest scythe, and claim his right arm, the blade infused with festering death, rendering immediate regeneration impossible, none left him time to deal with it.
The red rider feinting a sword strike, landing a punch with his free arm right in his chest, propelling him away, crashing through the closed doors, splinters flying everywhere, his back grinding against the ground, ending his course right at the foot of a statue of Phanes, god of life.
"Urgh... Get out of my sight, I don’t need your help" standing back up, he could feel death spreading from his severed arm, what was there that could be done right now?
He grinned, this was exactly what he had wanted, his back was against the wall, Loimos’s portfolio of tricks and techniques was prevailing over his specialisation.
"Fine then, let’s see if you can weasel your way out of this" he exclaimed aloud, the four riders breaking into the ruined cathedral, Loimos stepping through the door.
All five were closing in on him.
