Pestilence: Rise Of The Pure Undead

Chapter 280 The Eclipse

Chapter 280 The Eclipse

Once the eclipse settled in, multiple things happened, Loimos allowed the now unmoving lake king to sink down in the depth of his own domain, walking back onto solid ground, returning to a rather panicked minor lord, who was pointing up at where the sun had just stood, a veil of darkness now nesting all around it, blocking all and every light originating from it.

The darkness seeming to be melting in all four cardinal directions, forming the shape many imagined a star to had from a distance, right after this, Loimos was once again drawn to where the ancient tree was standing, this time, not simply by the sensation of a powerful life force that needed to be snuffed, no, it was like the whispers of death were beckoning for him to do something.

"Ir'Houwl, return to your bastion and do as per instructed" his two graceless wings manifested onto his back with strings of pungent blood erupting.

"What about you, general?" she asked, feeling like Loimos was going to take off into a completely different direction than he was supposed to.

"I have matters to attend to" and like this, giving an answer that really wasn't going to answer anything, he propelled off the ground, driving right through the first layer of clouds, disappearing from view.@@@@

Ir'Houwl did not stand still even if she was confused, the eclipse was set as a signal long ago, one that each of the minor lords had been waiting for in anticipation, they had been hoping for it to occur during the siege of Ircron, and they were certainly not expecting it to just happen now as nothing of substance was undergoing.

Like a mechanism had just been activated, all undeads began moving faster, as if invigorated by the eclipse, whatever they had been doing before, would soon be done as more undeads came out from hidden tunnels underground, naturally formed undeads emerged in even greater numbers, the hum that had been echoing throughout the continent grew louder and louder, the being it belonged to stirred from where it had been standing, pushing the earth and stone all around, breaking through the surface, emerging in the center of the undead capital, the city once known as Bourgliotte.

A sword of gold, seemingly put together using corpse wax, its blade covered in countless decaying bodies and skeletal remains, shrill cries of the damned coming from within, this weapon artefact was of a great stature, the likes of which could split the skulls of giants and divide layers of clouds.

Emerging in all its glory, King Nitok's divine beast, The Graveyard had grown considerably since its time in Muho Chitai, not simply double or tripled in size, even beyond, one standing on the ground could no longer gaze upon the full expanse of the beast's body, now armed with its weapon, reforged from the what little had remained of this antique since it had been shattered by The First Death Hunter.

The bone calamity was larger and stronger than it had ever bee, virtually unbeatable now that the majority of the continent had been taken over, grasping onto the hilt of its blade with thousands of skeletal hands, thrusting directly into the sky, and ludicrously enough, actually stabbed into something, a gaping wound manifesting, torrents of blood gushing out as the blade was twisted, ripped out and thrusted back.

Seated far away upon a throne of cold stone, raising on bony hand, closing the doors behind the visitor, sealing the throne room.

"Lo, if it be not the saucy elven maiden" King Nitok snapped his skeletal finger, remaining in his elevated throne, looking down upon his awaited guest.

"Maiele Liameilos, at last, thou dost appear before me once more-"

"Would you kindly cut the ancient speech garbage? I am not one of your dogs, I can't tolerate having my ears puked in" the Elven Light spat, rolling her eyes.

"Here stand I, upon the very brink of death's purest form, crowned by its hand..."

"...And all you can think of is my manner of speech? Were you cradled next to a wall of stone? You stupid bitch?" his entire disposition changed, pointing at the pink-haired elf.

"I see, I know, you are under the utmost belief that your victory is guaranteed, are you not? You do have the elemental advantage, and you are a greater closer-quarters fighter than I am, most certainly yes... Yes... But as you must have noticed, none of my gravelords or royal guards are present, not even my crypt knights"

"I could have easily made this into four against one, but I did not, and I have even been pulling nonsense like the siege on Ircron to lure you in, did that titillate your memory? Remind you of the trick used by Sun-Walker to lure my loyal undeads away from me?"

The Monarch laughed, shaking his head as he rose from his throne.

"Surely it did, but your lust for conflict only allowed you to wait until my dominion expanded beyond its previous reaches"

"Oh you, oh Maiele Liameilos! Repent and join me, before you are humiliated"
