Chapter 338: Reaching the Imperial Kingdom, Time To Hatch The Egg!
Chapter 338: Reaching the Imperial Kingdom, Time To Hatch The Egg!
Leon, Emilia and Celeste kept rushing through the vast open land between [Divine Academy City] and the next big checkpoint on their map, moving at a steady pace that allowed them to cover ground while also dealing with any monsters that crossed their path.
On the way they encountered several groups of monsters roaming the plains, though all of them were level 75, making them very weak compared to the trio.
Emilia and Celeste mainly used this golden opportunity to try out new techniques and skills they had recently acquired.
Fighting weak monsters was the perfect time to experiment without any real danger.
Bone Shuffle!
Emilia lifted her scepter high into the air as she cast her newly learned skill, and around a dozen sharp bones erupted from the ground beneath a monster to impale it from multiple angles and kill it instantly.
"Wow, that was amazing," Emilia’s eyes sparkled with excitement, "No wonder this skill was so damn expensive, its incredibly powerful!"
And that was only one of the many ways it could be used, because as the skill description had said, there were several different ways to use it depending on the situation and the user’s creativity.
She tried to create spikes to pierce enemies from below, make a cage out of bones to trap monsters, use them to disturb the monsters’ movements and even pull one out of the ground to use as a makeshift weapon in close combat.
Overall, the skill was incredibly versatile and Emilia was clearly very happy with it.
She even made sure to thank Leon each time she found a new way to use it.
Celeste on the other hand simply focused on killing the monsters with her [Darkness Ember] over and over again to get used to wielding it in combat.
She needed to be able to use it constantly without passing out every single time, which meant she needed to lower her power output as much as possible to conserve her energy.
She had used the max power of her ember against the monsters of the [Forest of Oblivion] back in the previous domain, which is why they had been injured so badly, in addition to their souls being directly targeted by the attack.
She didn’t succeed in using it at a lower power level without exhaustion just yet, but at least it was evident that she could now use her ember at any time she wanted without having to stress about it.
"Hah..." Celeste fell to the ground exhausted after another attempt, breathing heavily, "A-At least I didn’t pass out this time, so thats progress..."
"Yeah, that’s definitely an improvement," Leon smiled as he helped her back up to her feet.
As for Leon, he simply looked at the two girls training while only killing the monsters that came his way for their essence drops.
Since Celeste had her [Phoenix Ember] that granted her permanent attributes after burning a monster she personally killed, Leon mainly shared the regular essences with Emilia when they were related to Spirit and Constitution stats.
As for the rest of the items that dropped from the monsters, they were all pretty average and nothing special, so he decided to put them up for sale on the trading house.
After selling all the items back in [Higher Domain #3] before leaving, Leon had actually met all the conditions for becoming a global seller, which was a huge milestone.
Ding!
[To become a global seller, and be able to sell your items in every higher domain, you simply need to meet these three requirements:]
[1. At least 300 items sold (300/300)]
[2. At least five of the items sold must have a value above 500,000 Eternal Coins (5/5)]
[3. Having an item from each category, including sub-talents, skill books and such (Completed)]
And since Leon had completed all three requirements, which many players struggled to do for years if ever, the system rewarded him accordingly.
Ding!
[Congratulations, Celestial, you are now a "Global Seller", your items will be available for purchase on every "Higher Domain" simultaneously.]
That way, Leon would have one hundred times the reach he would have had before, because players from every domain could now see and buy his items all at once.
And indeed, as he expected, literally everything he put on the [Trading House] sold almost instantly after he became a global seller.
The sheer number of players who knew about the name "Celestial" from the announcements and seeing him sell these rare items that they had a hard time acquiring on their own was enough to make them want to buy from him.
Leon kept doing that repeatedly as he walked, putting up new items and watching his wealth increase as time went on.
[+24,357,505 Eternal Coins.]
’Good, I’ll need as much money as I can get in the future,’ Leon grinned to himself, already planning ahead.
Not only because he planned to return to the [Awakener District]’s expensive market to buy more items for him and his companions, but also for many other things that would require large amounts of coins.
Of course, Leon did not level up at all during this grind because each monster kill basically gave him only a few hundred experience points or thousands at most if they were a boss.
He was level 83 while these monsters were only level 75, which wasn’t even close to being a challenge or giving meaningful experience.
The essence grind was still very useful for attribute gains though, so he kept at it while they traveled.
Nom! Ding!
[+2,480 Strength, +1,530 Constitution, +1,905 Spirit, +2,790 Agility.]
The monsters here did not give as many attributes as the level 90 ones back in the previous domain, obviously, but Leon did not care because every little bit helped.
And eventually, after hours of traveling across the plains, they saw what they had been looking for in the distance, a massive structure that dominated the horizon.
"Holy shit, its another kingdom!" Celeste exclaimed, pointing ahead.
Ding!
[You are getting close to the "Imperial Kingdom", please do not cause problems or the Imperial Army will deal with you.]
Before them was the [Imperial Kingdom], the largest hub in [Higher Domain #1], designed for players between level 75 and level 90 to gather.
It wasn’t as large as the [Awakener Kingdom] from the previous domain, but it was still big enough to house tens of millions of players and native NPCs within its walls.
Leon knew almost nothing about [Higher Domain #1] since he had never been here in his past life, so this was the first time he was seeing this kingdom as well.
But even though Leon wanted to enter this place and explore it properly, he suddenly stopped in his tracks as he opened his [World Map] and checked the tower icon.
"The [Time Tower] is pretty far from the kingdom’s location," Leon spoke thoughtfully, "So I’m going to go there first before doing anything else."
Hearing that, the two girls looked at each other in confusion, not understanding why he wanted to split up.
"I know what you’re both thinking," Leon smiled reassuringly, "But its going to be dangerous in there, and I only need to go to hatch the pet, nothing else, so its better if you two also focus on growing stronger here in the kingdom while I’m gone."
"Alright," Celeste sighed, though she was clearly unhappy about being left behind, "Once you come back, I’m going to be so strong that you’ll be shocked, and I’ll even try to find a new [Ember] to add to my collection!"
"I hope that happens," Leon nodded with encouragement.
As for Emilia, she didn’t say much, simply agreeing with Leon’s plan, "Come back safe and bring that dragon back with you so we can see it."
"I will, see you both in a few... days, I hope," Leon said, not entirely sure how long it would take.
Leon knew that the flow of time would be different inside the [Time Tower] because of its special properties, but who knew how much different it would actually be.
Dominik had not mentioned any time dilation issues when they had talked, so Leon assumed that it wouldn’t be that bad.
And with that final goodbye, he turned around, facing the exact direction where the tower icon was located on his map, and prepared to move out.
As for the two girls, they headed toward the massive entrances of the kingdom, where hundreds of lizard looking guards were waiting to check incoming visitors.
’...Let’s hope this [Imperial Kingdom] isn’t too bad of a place, though I believe in them,’ Leon thought as he watched them walk away.
Both Emilia and Celeste were strong enough to fend off for themselves at this point, plus they had each other as well to watch their backs.
There was probably nothing here in this kingdom that could defeat them if they worked together and stayed smart.
"Alright, its finally time to hatch the [Primordial Dragon of Chaos]," Leon cracked his neck slightly from side to side before rushing forward toward the distant tower icon on his map.
