Chapter 307: This is karma!!
Damien unleashed a barrage of icicles at Blake with the same velocity as Blake's blood bullets, the room became a chaotic battleground. Blake swiftly went on the defensive, his reflexes kicking in as he darted across the room, narrowly evading the icy projectiles that tore through the air, shattering anything in their path.
With each step, Blake's movements were fluid yet precise. He danced around the lethal icicles, his senses sharp and focused on the impending danger. But even with his heightened agility, one of the icy shards grazed perilously close to him, slicing across his rib with a searing pain.
Gritting his teeth against the pain, Blake pressed on, his adrenaline fueling his movements. However, just as he thought he had evaded the danger, his heart skipped a beat as he watched in horror as one of the icicles veered off course, hurtling directly toward Rose, who remained encased in Damien's icy trap.
Reacting on pure instinct, Blake lunged forward, his movements fueled by desperation as he stretched out his arm, willing himself to reach Rose in time. His fingers brushed against the icy surface just as the lethal projectile closed in, a split-second away from striking its deadly blow.
As the ice shard whizzed towards Rose's delicate face, Blake's reflexes kicked in, his hand intercepting the projectile just inches from her skin. "That was close," he muttered, his voice tinged with relief and concern as he glanced at Rose, who remained frozen in Damien's icy grip.
Turning towards Damien, Blake's expression darkened with frustration. His jaw clenched as he crushed the ice shard in his hand, the fragments scattering to the ground. The tension in the room crackled with Blake's palpable vexation, evident even to Damien, who regarded him with a semblance of indifference.
With a derisive chuckle, Damien attempted to diminish the gravity of the situation. "Just a little ice, nothing to worry about," he quipped, his tone laced with mockery.
Blake's eyes narrowed, a flicker of anger flashing across his features at Damien's callous remark. "Do you find amusement in endangering innocent lives?" His voice carried a biting edge, revealing the depth of his disdain for Damien's disregard for Rose's safety.
"It didn't hurt sweet Rose, did it, Blakey?" Damien said with a mocking expression on his face. Clearly he didn't quite care for Rose or whatever happened to her. Blake however was not about to sit back and let this lunatic get away with what he had just done.
"Have you lost your mind?" Blake demanded, his voice dripping with incredulity as he confronted Damien's indifference to Rose's peril.
Turning swiftly, Damien's boots pounded against the ground as he conjured a ramp of ice beneath him, propelling him forward with unparalleled speed. The makeshift ice sled collided with Blake, sending him sprawling backward.
Without missing a beat, Damien slid gracefully across the ice, his movements fluid and calculated. As he neared Blake, he propelled himself into the air, summoning a formidable ice sword in his hand. With a fierce determination in his eyes, Damien descended upon Blake, his intent clear: to end this confrontation once and for all.
But in a sudden, jolting motion, Damien's trajectory was abruptly altered by the whip that snaked around his legs like a viper. The force of the whip sent him hurtling through yet another wall, his body crashing against the unforgiving surface with bone-jarring impact.
As Damien struggled to regain his bearings, he watched helplessly as Blake retrieved the fallen sword, a grim determination etched upon his face.
With each step, Blake's heavy boots echoed against the cold marble floor, the scraping of the giant ice sword adding a sinister undertone to his approach. His eyes, fiery with determination, locked onto Damien's, a silent proclamation of his resolve.
"For all the pain inflicted upon me, upon my daughter, upon Rose, this is karma," Blake declared, his voice a low rumble that reverberated through the room, carrying the weight of their shared suffering.
Yet, despite Blake's ominous words, Damien couldn't help but chuckle in response, a mocking glint in his eyes. "Foolish to think this is the end, or that it would be so easy to end me," he retorted, his tone dripping with arrogance.
Without uttering a word, Damien expelled residual blood from his mouth, the crimson droplets staining the pristine floor beneath him. With a defiant gesture, he placed a hand on his knees, getting back up, his stance unwavering despite the pain coursing through his body.
"You've underestimated the power I possess, Blake. But you've yet to witness the full extent of the monster I can become," Damien warned, his voice laced with a chilling edge, a smirk playing on his lips.
And as the tension between them reached its zenith, Damien's smirk widened into a sinister grin as he uttered the haunting words, "To hell we must plunge, winter tears, I'll shed," ...
