My Blood Legacy: Reincarnated as a Vampire

Chapter 451 Knight of War

Chapter 451 Knight of War

Dante followed Akira through the bustling streets of the city, feeling the piercing gazes of everyone around them. Demons of all shapes and sizes interrupted their activities to stare at him, some with curiosity, others with disdain or obvious hostility. He could hear muffled whispers, words clearly referring to him, but he chose to ignore them.

As they walked, an imposing demon suddenly appeared in their path. He was tall, maybe two and a half meters, with a broad torso covered in thick black scales. His eyes glowed like burning embers, and two huge horns curved backward from his head. He exuded an aura of threat and power, and his voice was like thunder when he spoke.

"You don't belong here, stranger." The demon pointed a claw at Dante's chest. "What is a non-demon doing here? Who allowed your entry?"

Dante stopped, looking at the demon with total disinterest. He crossed his arms and turned to Akira, completely ignoring the intimidation from the being in front of him.

"Akira," he said, his voice laced with sarcasm, "are they always this dumb or is this a special case?"

The demon growled, taking a step forward, clearly offended. "How dare you—"

Before he could finish, Akira raised a hand, stopping the demon in his tracks. Her eyes glowed with something dangerous as she gave a slight smile.

"He's with me," Akira declared, her voice sharp as a blade. "And you'd do well not to provoke him, unless you want to find out why he's here."

The demon hesitated, narrowing his eyes as he looked at Akira and then at Dante. Finally, he let out a low growl and backed away, still casting a warning glance at Dante before disappearing into the crowd.

Dante let out a short, mocking laugh. "So predictable. I almost feel bad for them."

"You should be more careful with what you say," Akira commented, resuming their walk. "Not everyone here is so tolerant."

"I've dealt with worse," Dante replied, shrugging. "If they want to fight, I'm here. It'd even be fun."

Akira simply shook her head, a slightly tired smile on her face. "You never learn, do you?"

"Oh, of course I learn," Dante answered, a mischievous gleam in his eyes. "I just choose to ignore it."

And so, they continued through the city, Dante attracting glances and whispers wherever they went, while Akira led the way, indifferent to the tension that built around them.

Akira looked him up and down, as if evaluating a work of art. "Definitely less annoying than that pathetic human look you were flaunting." She gave a slight sarcastic smile. "Though, it's still you... so maybe the problem lies somewhere else."

Dante let out a low laugh, slipping his hands into his pockets as he resumed walking. "I'll admit, it's fun to see the impact my appearance causes. But if this stops attracting idiots, I think it's worth the effort."

"Don't kid yourself," Akira said as she kept pace with him. "You'll still attract them. Only now... it'll be the more dangerous kind."

He shrugged, a mischievous gleam in his golden eyes. "Perfect. I love a good challenge."

...

The battle at the base of the World Tree had reached a critical point. Lucifer, his aura nearly extinguished, gasped for breath with difficulty. Astaroth's body was covered in scars and battle marks, but her determination seemed unbreakable. She advanced with relentless strength, a controlled violence in every strike. Each attack she delivered was an explosion of pure destruction, and Lucifer could barely defend himself. Even with the help of the World Tree, which vibrated with negative energy in response to Lucifer's attacks, he could no longer stand firm against the growing pressure from Astaroth.

She was improving with every second, as if her energy and abilities increased with each blow. The power flowing from her seemed unbeatable, and Lucifer knew that the end was near. The World Tree, which had always been a pillar of stability for him, was no longer enough. He felt his own strength withering in the face of Astaroth's fury.

"I... can't continue..." Lucifer murmured, his voice filled with frustration and desperation. The air around him was dense with the pressure of the confrontation, and he found himself forced to retreat, his feet dragging on the ground, desperately searching for an escape.

But before he could react, a dark shadow covered the battlefield. Something colossal was approaching. The sound of heavy hooves echoed in the distance, and the earth trembled with the arrival of an imposing figure. Astaroth, who had been advancing with fury, paused for a moment, her gaze fixing on the presence emerging before her.

The black knight, mounted on a demonic horse with sharp teeth and flames burning from its nostrils, appeared before her. The knight wore dark armor, its surface reflecting a macabre light, and his helmet was a grimory of death itself. He held an immense sword, forged in the depths of hell. He dismounted from his steed with a fluid and threatening movement, and his presence exuded an aura of destruction and war.

Silence fell for a moment.

"You are right, Astaroth," the knight's voice echoed, low and threatening, reverberating through the landscape. "This has all been fun... but now your war is going too far."

Astaroth, her eyes gleaming with challenge and rage, looked at the knight who had just appeared. Her body tensed for combat, her fists clenched with the fury of a storm. "War..." she said with a dark smile, recognizing the figure. "You're too late. I was about to finish this." She prepared to attack, showing no fear.

But the knight didn't move. He looked at Lucifer, who was on the ground, his aura visibly diminished. "This end won't be yours, Astaroth. Or at least... not yet."

The aura of War seemed to consume the air around him as he approached with heavy steps. The battle between Astaroth and Lucifer was no longer just a confrontation between the two, but now a war against something much more sinister.

The knight, with his overwhelming presence, cast a glance at Astaroth. "Now, let's see how strong you really are." And, with a swift movement, he prepared to strike, his sword raised threateningly, ready to challenge the Lady of War.
