Chapter 9 Abducting Xander's mother

*Pa!*

Harry snapped one of his nails with force with the clipper when he heard that. Thinking he heard something else he began laughing.

"Haha... I didn't know you had a cat Xander."

Xander just looked at him and thought, 'I wish it was a cat that knocked my door this morning.'

"I didn't say cat, Harry. Although a cat would be nice, I said my dad is back." He corrected, still looking at the ceiling.

"No way. Your dad. Handsome, tall dad that left you and your mom a note about going for business and not contacting you for a year. That dad?" Harris spoke, his tone filled with disbelief.

"Yeah, I thought he would never come back. And he said some weird things when he was explaining himself today."

Harry's brows became uneven with confusion, "You even let him talk?"

"He's still my dad Harry, whether I like it or not."

Harry stood up and then began walking back and forth in his room, "This is serious. Okay, okay. Um, Xander."

"Hm?" Xander looked towards him.

"What kind of weird things did he say?" Harry said, folding his arms across his chest.

"Buddy, you're gonna have to sit down for this one." Xander said, finally sitting up straight to look Harry in the eye.

G.CO, one of the biggest gaming companies in the world as well as the producers of League of Guardians situated in new York city.

In front of the seemingly endless floor sky scraper was a tall, large billboard advertising the game league of Guardians.

Inside the building, there was a receptionist there. A young woman with short black hair and blue eyes, with a beautiful face that complimented her body, Maria Sean.

She seem to be busy as she scrolled through the files on the screen before her.

At that moment, three people wearing black robes and black masks that covered the lower half of their face came in. Customers that were passing all looked back and began whispering in curiousity.

"Who are they?"

"Is G.CO doing a cosplay event?"

"They look like assasins."

The whispers kept on going on. Some people were scared of the weirdly dressed individuals and immediately left through the four sided glass door that spun to the side to let someone in.

"Hello."

Hearing a thick, hoarse voice Maria took her eyes away from the screen and raised her head to look at the owner of the voice.

Xander's head then started throbbing with pain and his heart started racing, he felt his energy leave him and he fell to the floor.

"Xander!"

Harry rushed to his side to see Xander eyes wide open and his breathing heavy and fast.

"Are you okay?!" Harry asked, scared that his friend was going to die so soon.

"I'll live." Xander said and he got up from the floor.

This is the second time that something like this is happening to him and it doesn't seem right at all.

"Let's meet in League of Guardians tonight." Xander said, making Harry smile.

"You got it bro."

7:00 pm.

At G.CO headquarters, the beautiful receptionist Maria had just finished arranging the company's files.

"I wonder what Xander would want for his birthday tomorrow," she said as she fell into deep thought.

Indeed she was Xander's mom, or should I say 'stepmom'. She just got a promotion to work in G.CO as a receptionist from her old work at a bank.

She only agreed because the pay here was much more than what the bank offered; who wouldn't want more money, and besides, she needed it.

Tomorrow was her son's birthday and she has to give him something good to remember his eighteenth birthday.

*Ding*

The sound of the elevator reached her ears and she looked to see the same three masked individuals walking out.

She kept watching them; for some reason they were extremely suspicious.

How would they not be suspicious when they look like a masked Kirito? The main character of the anime 'Sword art online'.

The three guys stopped in front of the reception counter and looked at her at the same time, creeping Maria out.

"You're Maria Sean right?" One of the masked men asked.

When she was asked that question Maria's body shuddered a little in fear and she became nervous.

"Um... Yes." She answered.

"Good. Your husband is in town, he keeps interfering with our business so you're coming with us." The one in the middle said as he pointed Maria.

Confused that they mentioned her husband she fell into a daze and before she realised it, she was hit at the back of her head and she fell unconscious.

The men then carried her out of the place. Their destination... Unknown.
