Lord MMORPG: The Demon Progenietor

Chapter 68 Family problems (1)

Chapter 68 Family problems (1)

xander's life has been boring since he entered high school. he got addicted to games because of the immersion and the adrenaline he feels when he plays dangerous adventures.

this led him to want to become a pro-gamer, people that test new products for game companies and having a fan base like others on the internet and social media.

sandra walked around the grounds of the base cheerfully as she explored all the regions alone.

as she passed she couldn't help but be 'wowed' every now and then as the base seemed like technology at it's peak. somethings she saw there she had never seen it outside.

as she passed a group of people, an old scientist with a full white beard couldn't help but eye the beautiful girl that just passed by.

*slap!*

"focus joe! for christ's sake!"

"sorry."

the scientist then went back to doing his job.

sandra of course didn't notice this and just smiled as she explored the perimeters of the underground cave.

she suddenly stopped with a frown as she heard something from the room she just passed which had a slightly opened door.

she then walked back a little and listened on the conversation between two male voices.

"lucas dave. the owner of the game technology company that created the gaming tech for league of guardians."

"yes. the ghoulshippers would need some kind of medium as they can't go from house to house using their powers."

"you're right."

"we have to tell mr ciel."

"yeah. we could interrogate the man and find the base!"

"then we'll split the salary that we earned haha."

"ehh. wait, who's the 'we'?"

"what do you mean?"

"i came up with the idea so i'll take all the money."

"you greedy bastard!"

"..."

"asura."

"you're back so early."

xander heard the voice behind him but he wasn't spooked like the last time. this god liked to spook people out but xander has already gotten used to the foolishness by now.

"i want to know something. how did you deal with your problem when the person closest to you died?"

that question seemed to stir something in the god's heart. asura turned around, his long white hair fluttered even in the absence of wind which... didn't make any sense.

xander put his hand on his chest as he felt like the emotions he was feeling wasn't his.

"i abandoned... it."

confused by his words xander asked, "what exactly did you abandon?"

asura turned back, casting a glance at the young man as he spoke, "my emotions."

"i don't understand what you mean."

asura just shrugged.

"you will when you abandon yours."

...

xander walked away from the volley ball pitch and when he reached the net fence he looked back at the entrance. it indeed looked like a regular sports center.

'technology has come so far.' he thought before he lept over the fence with little to no effort at all.

he was heading to his area of peace. the place where he can think and feel at ease. no one would be there in these times with what is going on around.

as he walked he couldn't help but ponder about his and asura's conversation.

"when you abandon your emotions. you lose your reasoning and you will be stronger than you can ever imagine. all my past succesors took this path. it's most likely that you will take it too."

xander soon reached a park. the park was heaven to xander as its not usually populated. it was quiet and the cool breeze clears one's mind of problems.

on his way he saw a lot of destroyed buildings and smashed cars but he didn't pay any attention to that as he had a lot on his mind.

he looked around. the quietness of the place made him feel at ease. the water fountain in the middle of the park still ran and it was the only sound that filled this desolate place.

as he walked closer to a tree he began to see the silhouette of a person there. xander walked slowly and then he saw a familiar figure.

"um. what are you doing here, sandra?"
