Chapter 367
Chapter 367
Title: Bridget Village Defense Guide (4)
Author: Lilgirlchang
Content: Continuing from the previous guide.
Now that the investigation event is over, it’s time to judge the traitors, but really, this is where the final battle of Bridget Village begins.

Calling it a "judgment of traitors" is a bit of a misnomer; it’s essentially the Humanities Exploration Class boss fight. Thankfully, it’s easier than the Sun Ruins boss or the eight-person dungeon raid from the previous class.
Out of the three bosses, the orphanage director route is the trickiest and requires Silena and Serista. Seraphine, being the main heroine, will automatically join.@@@@
If you’re on the Serista Abandonment Route, bring Lilith. At least her Aura of Healing will help you endure.
Hankerton has several patterns that you’ll need to avoid each turn, but it’s hard to explain in text—just watch a YouTube guide for that. I won’t cover this route since it’s not the one I’m playing this round.
Next is Village Chief Rombel. Honestly, this is the easiest route. He’s more of a glorified mob-summoner who just dies afterward. If you’ve done the bandit ambush event on the way to the village, you’ll know there are two main named monsters: Bandit King Huma and the twin Ocam. If you killed one, the other will appear here. Rombel summons whichever one is left and promptly gets betrayed and dies.
Because the named mid-boss becomes the final battle, this is the easiest route. The patterns are almost identical to the bandit ambush event, with just slightly more health and damage. The devs probably got lazy and reused the assets.
Lastly, we have Mel, the village maiden. She might look like a pushover, but she’s secretly tough. After being captured by bandits, she becomes demonized and absorbs the vengeful spirits of other village maidens who were killed.
Since Mel is the collaborator in this round, I’ll focus on her strategy.

The event starts with Mel and another village woman in the alley. The woman leaning against the wall (a corpse) changes depending on which woman had the most trouble with Mel during the self-defense class. Mel will be on the ground, bleeding from her side, making her look like a victim. She will run toward the main characters, acting pitiful.
You’ll get a choice: “Protect Mel” or “Be cautious of Mel.” If you choose the former, you’ll start the final battle with half health.

Serista: Holy Light – Divine Wave – Divine Explosion – Prayer of Salvation – Holy Light (repeat cycle)Silena: Barrage Shot – Concentrated Shot – Full Burst – Barrage Shot (repeat cycle)Agnes: Triple Cast Fireball – Triple Cast Magic Missile – Double Cast Advanced Flame Arrow – Triple Cast Fireball (repeat cycle)Lilith: Keep Aura of Healing up and use Arcane Shield whenever it’s off cooldown. Prioritize Serista > Agnes > Silena > Lilith > Protagonist. Use low-level mana elixirs if your mana runs low.
(User 9): Can’t Lilith just cast Arcane Arrow or something between shields? I hate wasting turns when no one’s shield is broken.
Reply: What? Did you seriously teach Lilith attack magic? Why? Are you a pervert?
(User 10): Uh... because it’s fun.
...
Back in the game, Ethan’s twin swords cleaved through the bandits swarming us, while only Agnes and I remained to deal with the tentacle woman, Mel.
“While Dan holds off the bandits, we’ll have to handle her ourselves, Agnes.”
“...She’s a demon, right? Got a plan?”
“A demon, a dragon—whatever it is, if you hit it enough times, it’ll eventually die. Just keep spamming Arcane Arrows, Magic Missiles, and Fireballs, and we’ll take her down.”
Fighting Mel felt like tearing through layers of magic shields, one by one. While it was tedious, it was a reliable strategy I had used before to kill her in a previous life.
“Start with a triple-cast Fireball, Agnes. Then follow with a triple-cast Magic Missile and double-cast Advanced Flame Arrow. Repeat the cycle.”
“You sound just like that hero kid when we used to hunt together. He always ordered me around like that.”
“...Sorry. I didn’t mean to sound like I was giving orders.”
“It’s fine. Your request isn’t that difficult.”
Agnes conjured three flaming orbs and launched them at Mel. With both of us focusing on her, we should be able to finish her off. The real issue was whether Ethan could hold out against the bandits until then...
‘Sally, support Ethan during the fight. If any bandits try to ambush him, deal with them.’
‘Understood.’
Even though there were only three of us, we had more firepower than it seemed. Three people, three spirits, two of us were Sword Experts, and one was a main damage dealer from the hero’s party.
It was enough to handle the final boss of the Humanities Exploration Class.
