Chapter 390 390: Let's call our organization Hydra from now on!
"Heh~ Catch." Wade tossed the small black stone toward her.Elena caught it with both hands. "What is this?"
"The Resurrection Stone," Wade said with a calm smile. "Turn it three times in your hand, and you'll be able to see the departed loved one you most wish to see."
"The Resurrection Stone? The one from the Deathly Hallows?" Elena exclaimed, her eyes widening in shock.
"Oh? You've heard of it too?"
"Of course. Grindelwald studied at Durmstrang before he was expelled, and his followers have caused a lot of trouble in the Soviet Union over the years!"
Elena gripped the stone tightly, her hands shaking with emotion.
After taking several deep breaths to steady herself, she gathered her courage and slowly turned the stone in her palm — once... twice... three times.
Wade narrowed his eyes as his nightmare magic quietly spread outward like invisible threads, allowing him to see exactly what she was seeing.
White mist gradually rose around them, filling the room with an eerie, cold atmosphere. A woman with dishevelled hair appeared within the swirling fog.
Her once-luxurious dress was now tattered and torn, and her body was covered in numerous wounds. It was obvious she had fought desperately on the day she died.
"Mother!" Elena cried out, her voice breaking with raw emotion.
Anna slowly raised her head. For a brief moment, a spark of life returned to her dull eyes when she saw her daughter. But the spark quickly vanished, replaced by cold indifference.
She spoke several harsh words in Russian. Elena's entire body began trembling violently as fresh tears poured down her face. She shook her head desperately and poured out a long, emotional stream of words in response.
Wade gritted his teeth in frustration. I really need to learn Russian soon.
The emotional exchange continued. Finally, Elena wiped her tears and spoke one final sentence with great solemnity and determination.
This time, Anna's cold expression finally cracked. She shook her head slowly, her face showing clear signs of regret. She said something urgent and hurried before slowly retreating back into the white mist, disappearing of her own free will.
Clack!
The black Resurrection Stone slipped from Elena's fingers and fell onto the wooden floor.
Elena collapsed forward, sobbing sorrowfully into her hands, her whole body shaking with grief.
Wade stared at the empty spot where Anna had vanished, the corner of his mouth twitching slightly. She had left voluntarily.
According to everything he knew from the original lore, the spirits summoned by the Resurrection Stone were never supposed to leave on their own. Yet both Anna and Ariana had done exactly that.
There was definitely something strange about this Resurrection Stone... or perhaps this entire world.
The more he thought about it, the more convinced he became of the parallel worlds theory.
This place looked and felt like the Harry Potter universe, but many small details were different. Maybe he hadn't transmigrated into the main timeline at all.
If the Grindelwald who lost his Elder Wand was the main timeline version, then the Dumbledore of that timeline would have had a much easier time defeating him. The thought made Wade smile faintly with interest.
Click.
The door suddenly opened.
Tom strode into the room confidently. "My Patronus Charm—"
He stopped mid-sentence, taking in the scene before him: Elena crouched on the floor crying pitifully, and Wade standing over her with a rather suspicious smile on his face.
"Tsk... what a beast," Tom muttered, looking at Wade with utter contempt.
"Huh? No, hold on. You were talking about your Patronus Charm. Why are you insulting me?" Wade asked, clearly irritated.
"Tsk tsk tsk. I should've realised long ago that you had this sort of hobby. Bullying a young girl first thing in the morning... no wonder you were always talking about hiring pretty girls as secretaries back at school." Tom's disdain was thick.
"You little— when have I ever bullied a young girl?!" Wade exploded.
"I saw it with my own eyes! Look at the situation. Early in the morning, a young girl is crying her eyes out in your room while you're standing there grinning like a creep..." Tom sighed dramatically. "Stop denying it. I'm going to report you right now. Make sure you behave yourself in Azkaban. I'll take good care of inheriting everything you leave behind."
"Ha! I knew it! You've been coveting my fortune all along!"
"No! He didn't bully me!" Elena hurriedly explained, lifting her tear-stained face.
With the actual person involved clearing up the misunderstanding — and the Resurrection Stone still lying on the floor — the situation was resolved quite quickly.
"Sigh..." Tom let out a deeply disappointed sigh.
"You were hoping I'd get sent away, weren't you? You're disappointed it didn't work, aren't you?" Wade asked dryly.
"No, you've misunderstood. I'm simply sighing over Miss Yuryev's tragic circumstances," Tom replied with perfect calmness.
"Fine, I'm too lazy to argue with you right now..." Wade waved his hand irritably. "Tell me, how's your Patronus Charm coming along?"
Tom didn't say a word. He simply raised his wand and pointed it forward with elegant precision.
A brilliant white magical creature materialized in the center of the room. It was large, serpentine, and had multiple menacing heads that moved independently.
"What is that? Why does it have so many heads?" Wade asked, leaning forward with interest. The creature looked strangely familiar.
"My ancestor says it's a Hydra..." Tom answered.
"A Hydra? The nine-headed serpent?!" Wade stroked his chin in genuine surprise. "Now that's a rather unique Patronus!"
After observing it for another moment, a slow, thoughtful smile spread across Wade's face.
"Since your Patronus is a Hydra... then how about naming our organisation Hydra in the future? Cut off one head, and another two grow back in its place... endless and unceasing, spreading like a wildfire..."
