Having obtained the information he wanted, Lu Heng kept his promise and granted Feng Kangyu a swift end.

At that moment, Su Muyu's voice came through the Bluetooth earpiece:

"Lu Heng, someone's headed up there, dressed in plain clothes, but I think they're from the enforcement team."

"Enforcement teams don't handle cases involving Superpower Users, it must be the Iron Blood people."

Lu Heng quickly scanned his surroundings to ensure he hadn't left any traces exposing his identity, then put on a mask and a hood, grabbed his laptop into a bag, and headed out the door.

"They're already on the third floor," Su Muyu said, her tone growing more anxious.

This building had only one staircase; heading down now would definitely lead to an encounter with the Iron Blood members.

Lu Heng took steps upwards instead, making his way to the rooftop.

Just as he reached the rooftop, dense footsteps came from below.

Two Iron Blood members arrived at Feng Kangyu's door, it was Chen Linian and his apprentice.

The young investigator reached out to knock, pounding loudly, "Is anyone there? Iron Blood handling a case, open up!"

Chen Linian rubbed his nose, sniffing a scent of blood, his gaze sharpening as he shouted, "Kick it open!"

The young investigator kicked the door open, only to see Feng Kangyu lying in a pool of blood on the living room floor.

Chen Linian stepped forward, touched the carotid artery on the neck, "He's just died, the culprit might still be in the house,

"Don't turn to look at him. If he has high Perception, he might notice someone is watching him." Lu Heng quickly advised, turning her face back around.

As the Iron Blood Investigator walked further away, Su Muyu's hands still clung to Lu Heng's clothes, their bodies pressed together, savoring this warmth of mutual reliance.
