Chapter 500 Realm Protection, Void's Wrath, and Pulse

--

"Chancellor Igor...the Jade of Realm Protection, was it truly necessary for this?"

This was the very first question the Dragon Chancellor got as soon as the other Chancellors saw him and what he did.

The Jade of Realm Protection was the ancient jade passed down to him by their ancestors, and he wasn't the only one who possessed one. The other Chancellors had them too.

One must know that only Chancellors can keep and use this ancient jade. Passing them down to a successor requires a sacred ritual due to the value of the jade. And since there are only so few of these things, there are many mechanisms in place that would have to be satisfied before the jade could be used.

Normally, there's a process to this. The Jade of Absolute Protection is enchanted to be nigh-indestructible; even the likes of the Dragon Chancellor couldn't just simply shatter it even if he used all of his strength.

The process is like filling out a questionnaire, and only when at least 75% of the questions in there were proven to be true would the jade be available for use. Of course, there is a certain mechanic installed on the jade to ensure the legitimacy of the claim, one that is a mystery to the modern alliance but one that works without fail.

The one big factor that takes priority over everything else, however, is the safety of the realm. If the realm was at risk of being destroyed and there's proof of it, then the Jade of Realm Protection could be shattered to unleash its effects.

That's why their inquiry sounded a bit redundant to the Dragon Chancellor. Because if the situation doesn't call out for the assistance of the jade, then he wouldn't have used it in the first place.

Still, he knows that he owes them an explanation.

"I dealt with this so-called 'Prince' of theirs." The voice of the Dragon Chancellor was raspy. "Well, I tried to at least. I don't know if it truly died. I didn't get the chance to check it myself, especially when the Void was thoroughly provoked."

"The Void itself made a move against you?" The Chancellor of the Holy Spirit Race asked incredulously.

"It has," Chancellor Igor replied. "Had I not issued a retreat order, all of us could've died there. It wasn't happy with what I did, that's for sure."

BOOM!!!@@@@

Everybody who's stationed at the border of the realm felt the aftershocks. It sounded so close to them that it thundered in their ears.

Looking up, they saw a black and white fog tossing and turning just outside the film of light that's released by the Jade of Realm Protection. If it weren't for this divine light, the Void Air could've easily spilled onto the realm, plunging all living beings into chaos.

The holes on the Scarlet Division Wall would've overflowed with it if the Jade of Realm Protection hadn't been used at all. Moreover, the density of the Void Air reached an unprecedented level, creating a new record in the database of the Border Patrol Guardians. This could've easily been disastrous to many, especially to the worlds that are located near the edge of the realm.

Those who have reached the Cosmic Level stage in Life Evolution could feel the raw malice trying to break into the film of light to kill all living beings of the Primordial Chaos. It was unlike anything they'd felt from it before, and it's what drove them to understand why the Dragon Chancellor didn't hesitate to use the jade and was approved by it to do so right away.

"You know what? Good call," the Primal Beast Race Chancellor uttered as he too solemnly looked at the commotion outside the realm. "Besides, the jade must've already proven the threat level, and since it was used, it confirms that this could've been really dangerous."

It harvested their intelligence and scattered it amongst its creations. Once it collected enough information, it began the long process of creating its Champion.

But yet again, just as it was about to succeed, the creatures of the Primordial Chaos interfered again! They tried to kill its champion that it worked so hard for!

Such audacity truly angered it; that's why it decided to punish the Primordial Chaos and its creatures just like the old times. It wanted to kill many living creatures, and while in there, harvest their souls and intelligence as well so that the next incubation of the Champion would be faster.

But it was stopped once more. It didn't know what stopped it, but it hardly matters now. Since not even a lick of void air could even seep through the Primordial Chaos, the Void could only writhe in fury and discontent.

But that sound...

dub Dub!

The void was surprised. Could it be...?

Dub! Dub!

It is! But the Void could've sworn that this thing died just now. Its pulse stopped and went completely silent. The void lost all feeling to it, so how was this possible?

Dub! DUB!!

But does it really matter how? It's alive, isn't it?

DUB! DUB!

And its pulse was way stronger than before.

At this point, how it survived no longer mattered. What matters is that it's alive. The Champion...the Prince...it's alive! And it's stronger than before!

And so, the void's anger ebbed away. Replaced by focus and attentiveness. Its pitch-black tendrils stopped trying to punish the Primordial Chaos. Instead, it condensed into a single area, going back to its previous state where it could peacefully incubate its champion once more.

The Royal Guards also noticed this and had let go of their grief, now replaced by overwhelming exhilaration.

Especially considering that the Prince's pulse was way stronger than before. A sign that its birth wouldn't be too far from now.

The true crisis of the Primordial Chaos has only just begun.
