Chapter 497 Revenge; Royal Guards

Chapter 497 Revenge; Royal Guards

--

"What's the verdict?"

Standing in the command center of a ship hovering in the void, a tall creature wearing a void suit asked his men.

"All according to expectations, Sir," someone reported. "The salvo exploded upon entering the PoNR but failed to send any information feedback."@@@@

"How's our ship's status?"

"Green across all boards, sir," somebody who's in charge of this sector replied to him.

"Great. Continue firing, but be wary; we've already made too much noise. Be on the lookout for hostiles."

This organized team wasn't alone in this operation.

Thousands of ships of the same size and capabilities have been sent into the void. Each one led by a team of interim officers, team leaders, field marshals, and some Paragons even.

Additionally, this isn't just happening on the Northwestern side of the Border Patrol Guardian Camp. The entire body was mobilized to invade the void to spark the first salvo of revenge.

This caused the void to have colors now, unlike its usual bleak and colorless state. Almost everybody who has been drafted for this operation had been briefed to be extra careful. Their task is to harass and measure the response of the void first. Of course, if they could somehow delay the birth of this 'Prince' or kill it, that would be way better. However, since it's being incubated at the core depths of the Heart of the Void, nobody could be blamed if it wasn't killed right away.

As expected, the noise was too much for the void to endure. As a result, its denizens were startled and responded according to their expectations with overwhelming aggression.

It didn't take long before they began appearing in hordes. Driven by sheer instinct to eradicate the invaders from their home and regain their silence, they pounced on the ships hovering in the air.

However, they received salvos of ammunition in response. The ships lit up the void, filling it with colors and explosions that made it even noisier and more chaotic.

The second one looked like a hybrid between a centipede and a moth. Its body followed the shape of a centipede, but each section spanned for miles, and each leg looked like a scythe of pure darkness, leaving a trail of black puddles wherever it went. It also has six pairs of moth-like wings attached to its body. The patterns on the wings looked like they're life-like eyes since they gave the illusion that they're blinking or looking at somewhere or someone whenever it beats. Also, the entire body of this monster was lined with pale eyes, and it was extremely swift for something of its size.

As for the third monster, it was the smallest out of the five. It's about 10 meters tall and not very wide either. It appeared to have the upper body of a boar or a rhino with the lower body of a serpent. It has very large eyes and an enormous tusk growing just on top of its nose. It has hooves for arms, and they're drenched in this dark, oozing smile of pure darkness. This thing was the fastest and the most flexible, probably due to its serpentine lower body.

The fourth monster was another winged creature. It has bat-like wings, an upper body of a shark, and a lower body of a squid. Its tentacles didn't just grow from its lower body; it could summon them from any part of its body. Each of its tentacles was drenched in that same pitch-black darkness, but it was also lined with eyes and fangs, making it impossible to escape from.

And then, there's the final monster. The one that most people here were familiar with...

It resembled a huge blob of slime with tentacles growing all over its body. It also has many dilated eyes and mouths lining its body. It's also the one that's the most difficult to predict because its movements were so erratic and glitchy.

Yes, this was the culprit behind the Young Dragon Patriarch's death. It's the very same monster that harvested his flesh and soul, offering it to the void to be used as nourishment for the 'Prince' in exchange for becoming one of its personal guards.

The Paragons that were overseeing this entire operation were also present during the memory viewing, meaning that they could recognize this thing, and of course, they immediately felt hatred towards it.

Despite this, none of them became reckless. They didn't break their formation and stayed at their post, even though they were so tempted to do so. All of them wanted a piece of this thing, but if there's anybody here who truly needs to vent their hatred and frustrations, it would be none other than the Dragon Chancellor himself. ROOOOOAAAAARR!!!

There was no hesitation on his part. As soon as the Dragon Chancellor saw the fifth monster appear, he immediately revealed his true dragon form and charged out. He quite literally saw the killer of his child. Nobody could estimate just how much anger and hatred he's carrying, and nobody could deny him this. That's also why they didn't follow him.

Instead, they focused on the other monstrosities, making sure that they could not come closer. It's best if they could kill them, though it wouldn't be a big deal if they couldn't. What's more important is for most of them to return alive and intact.

BOOOOOOMM!!!!

However, the clash between the Dragon Chancellor and that monstrous blob was too eye-catching and high-profile.

In the same way that the Dragon Chancellor wanted to kill this monster on sight, the monster was also eager since it saw him as another wonderful nourishment for the Prince.

With both parties determined to kill each other for different reasons, their initial clash was nothing less than explosive.
