Chapter 1211 - 8 Volume 23: Desperate Battle 3 (Part 2)

Two hundred Spirit Cats raced through the mountainous jungle, swiftly approaching the location of the First Battalion of the First Regiment. The route had been meticulously determined and calculated beforehand. The order given to the First Battalion was to hold position and defend once under attack. Even as the First Battalion of the First Regiment came under assault, orders had already been issued to other battalions. Now, each battalion was advancing according to plan towards their respective target positions. As long as they secured the tactical points around them, the enemy would have no escape!

Zhongshan Yi had no concern that the enemy would flee.

The opposition was too arrogant; the successive attacks resulting in the annihilation of three armored camps had only made them increasingly reckless. They deployed dozens of captured Mechanical Armors to rescue prisoners of war, intending to divert attention and swallow the First Battalion of the First Regiment whole.

They assumed that when everyone’s focus was drawn to the Mecha rescuing prisoners, they could accomplish another strike just like the previous three ambushes! Based on their demonstrated attacking prowess, it would only take half an hour, or at most forty minutes, to execute the ambush and vanish into the mountainous terrain!

But ultimately, they miscalculated!

Zhongshan Yi glanced at his Mechanical Computer, where lines of reports continuously unfurled. Among these were action reports from several other battalions, intelligence from electronic combat units, coordination reports of deliberately recalled air force fighters that had already departed the airport, heading to the conflict zone. The First Battalion of the First Regiment had ceased all communication.

Indeed, they were suppressed by electronic attacks. The enemy’s formidable electronic warfare capabilities once again displayed their power. Just like the other three ambushed battalions, during the attack, the enemy concentrated their electronic assault with such intensity that, even if they couldn’t destroy the Mechanical Computers and other electronic equipment, they could still shroud the entire area in an informational blackout within the valleys!

The Mechas ran swiftly through the jungle. Trees, dozens to even hundreds of meters tall, rapidly retreated past the transparent cockpit. As the two hundred Spirit Cats raced at full speed, the wind roared through the forest, causing a whirlwind behind them, lifting dry leaves and twigs into a sky-filling dance.

In less than ten minutes, they had crossed over three peaks, needing just another ten minutes to reach a gorge slightly southwest of the encirclement. If Chuckna’s armored units attempted to pass through there, they would face a direct assault!

Zhongshan Yi smirked coldly.

When the enemy deployed electronic attacks to erect an information curtain, they never imagined that there was an ambush set front and rear! He never considered that they would dare to rescue prisoners! He exploited their arrogance, their greed! When they aimed to annihilate a battalion and give him a slap in the face whilst massacraving prisoners, they had already fallen into a quagmire!

"Speed up!" Zhongshan Yi led the charge over a hillside, leaping down like a meteor. Behind him, two hundred Spirit Cats cascaded down like a waterfall.

Find them, kill them!

*****************************************

Seventy Spirit Cats surged down the hillside like a tide.

The escorting Mechas stationed at the foot of the slope stood like rocks before the flood, clashing with the torrent in a spray of high-soaring waves.

Artillery fire interwove up and down the slope. The casualties among the escorting forces rapidly increased. Thirty Fushan Mechas, inherently not a match for the Ninth Generation Spirit Cats, despite only being a generation apart, were vastly outclassed in performance.

With faster speed, more advanced mechanical computers and fire control systems, greater firepower, and larger energy shields... In fierce combat, these advantages marked the difference between life and death. Moreover, the attackers outnumbered the escorting Mechas more than twofold!

Thunderous explosions echoed through the valley, causing the surrounding mountains to seem to tremble. Stones of various sizes rolled down the slopes, striking the forest, crashing onto the stones below, like an avalanche splitting the earth. Dozens of Mechas fired simultaneously in a relatively closed valley. The sound drilled into the brain, with proximity causing dizziness, and ear drums to ache.

In the valley, the prisoners scattered and fled, each darting like mice towards the forest on either side. Once inside the woods, they naturally regrouped, eagerly watching the battle unfolding in the valley.

These Jiepeng Mechas, marked with several red pieces, were they here to rescue them, or was it Jiepeng’s internal conflict?

If they were allies, what effect could such an assault have in this high-walled mountainous area, with a prisoner camp behind and Jiepeng’s striking position ahead?

The ears were filled with deafening artillery and explosion noises, eyes dazed by dense flashes of white and fire. Jiepeng Mechas, once flaunting their might, exploded into fragments under artillery fire, while Jiepeng soldiers became scattered limbs and flesh.

Even though many Mechanical Warriors felt that the Spirit Cats rushing down the slope moved stiffly, with surprisingly poor control skills, they nonetheless held the advantage of surprise and superior numbers and performance. Within mere minutes, the escorting forces began collapsing. Among thirty Fushan units, only five remained, and infantry had dwindled to a mere twenty to thirty.

The attackers lost nothing while wildly bombarding with ferocious firepower.
