Chapter 607: Taking Action
Chapter 607: Taking Action
Chu Miao found that the sect was better managed than she had expected.
The people put in charge hadn’t joked with its expansion.
Moreover, there were now a lot of people with superpowers and cultivators in the sect.
If a full-blown war broke out, they would still manage to hold their own against high-level zombie leaders and even the zombie king.
Once she was satisfied with the state of the sect, she went back to her family’s apartment to talk to her family.
"Everything is running smoothly. Now, we just need to work hard on hunting those sneaky zombies." She said with a sigh.
"If everything is fine, why are you sighing like an old man?" Grandpa Chu asked, looking at his lovely granddaughter who was sitting on the sofa like a boneless loath.
He hadn’t seen his granddaughter behaving like this in a long time.
"I think we are closer to leaving this place. Even though the apocalypse looks like it is getting more intense with the way the zombies are evolving, it’s also the darkest hour before dawn. We will probably see the results of our labor for the past year soon." Chu Miao explained.
She couldn’t believe that it had already been a year since the apocalypse started.
Thinking of the way the world changed overnight, she hoped that everything would slowly go back to normal once the virus was eliminated.
"You are not wrong, but if that’s the case, then we have to cultivate even more diligently." Chu Mo said, also feeling like he was about to let his daughter down.
They were the elders, yet they were the ones holding the young people back.
They needed to cultivate without rest now until they advanced to the nascent soul.
With such thoughts, the elders wanted to be sent back to the Soul Ring to cultivate.
"Grandpa, you also know that cultivation isn’t solely about absorbing spiritual energy. If you don’t stabilize your foundation, you might suffer later. How about joining the hunting teams for a few days and going out in battle to stabilize your cultivation?" Chu Miao asked.
She wanted her family to be able to protect themselves in case she and Ye Xuan weren’t around.
"That’s indeed a good idea. If we can consolidate our cultivation now, even if we advance several small realms later, our foundation will still be stable. I had indeed overlooked this detail." Grandpa Chu said thinking that old age was really doing a number on him.
However, Chu Miao knew that it wasn’t because he was old but because he was too worried about slowing them down.
So, they had been focusing on cultivation and ignoring their foundation.
"Then it’s settled. My team and I will go out and scout the city and other places in advance. We are in the nascent soul and this level of weather change can’t hold us back. So, I was thinking that while the zombies are unable to go out, we should take that time to raid their hide outs. What do you think?" Chu Miao asked with a smile as she sat up straight.
"Huh? Why didn’t we think of that before? It’s indeed true that while people with lower ability even superpower users might not be able to withstand the wind causing havoc everywhere, as cultivators with the five elements, this isn’t impossible. Then, when do you plan to start and what is your actual plan?" Grandpa Chu asked.
The Li family had gone back to their apartment and would come back later so that those wanting to cultivate in the Soul Ring could do so freely.
So, the current plan only involved the Chu family and probably Ye Xuan’s brothers, who already had high cultivation.
"We can start immediately. We can’t just sit around for twenty hours a day everyday, yet we don’t know when the winds will come to an end. We also don’t know if once the wind hurricanes end, an even worse disaster would strike. So, it’s better to take action now." Chu Miao explained her reasoning and it indeed made sense.
"Then, little sister, count me in." Chu Hao slapped his chest as he spoke.
"Alright, go and tell the others. Once they are ready, we can start our hunt. As for how I plan to do it, we will just use divine sense to search. I don’t believe that we won’t find how those zombies and mutated creatures managed to sneak into our city." Chu Miao’s expression turned dignified as she said this.
"Grandpa, dad, mom, second grandpa, do you want to sit this one out?" Chu Miao turned to all of her elders and asked.
She didn’t know what was out there and even though she wanted them to stabilize their realm, she didn’t want to put them in danger while doing it.
"Of course not. If we want to stabilize our cultivation and improve, we can’t avoid danger. Danger is where opportunities came from. If we can’t even handle zombies, how can we dare to presume that we can handle the cultivators in the upper realm or the Immortal Realm?" Grandpa Chu asked, his expression turning serious.
Chu Miao also knew this was true, but she couldn’t help but worry for her family.
This was the problem with her in this life. She had a weakness, which was her family.
However, it was also her strength, because she wanted to get stronger and protect them and give them a better life.
"Then it’s settled. Later, I will go out with my brother to scout and learn what kind of enemies you will have to face. Even though you want to use the danger in these situations to hone your skills and stabilize your cultivation, you can’t put yourself in unnecessary danger." Chu Miao tried hard to convince the elders.
Luckily, they all doted on her and didn’t want her to worry, so they agreed to let the youngsters scout ahead first before going out to hunt.
