Chapter 119: Centipede in heart
Chapter 119: Centipede in heart
Damien's eyes widened as he looked at the fanged dagger that was stuck in the middle of the forehead of the beatsman.
Blood splattered on his clothes, and he wheeled around in a hurry; his gaze fell on a dark silhouette that was running away. He turned on his feet and chased after the one who had killed the cheetah beastman.
Past the forest and the swampy bog around the river, he didn't ask Maui to help him this time because he could feel energy coursing in his veins. He didn't feel tired nor did he feel exhausted. Your next read is at m v|l-e'-novelhall.net
tired,
Soon he was catching up with the beastman who had killed Clyde. He raised his sword and infused his aura within it, and sliced it at the man's legs.
"AHHH!"
The man screamed in pain before falling.
"Who are you? Why did you kill him?" Damien asked. He pressed his sword against the neck of the man.
"Because— because he was going to tell you the truth," Ollie grimaced as he looked at Damien, who kicked him on the shin.
His features reminded Damien of a small rat. The way his eyes were flickering and he was looking around as if he were thinking of running away.
"You are lying," Damien had learnt one thing after living and growing up in the orphanage, and that was that rats like bastards like him never spoke the truth.
"N-No, I am not lying," His eyes once again flickered as he looked left and right.
"Yes, you are. I know a liar when I see one," Damien sneered as he dug the blade of his sword into Ollie's flesh. "You better tell me the truth!" The authority that rang in his voice was so strong and prominent that even Damien was shocked by it.
It was as if he was born to command.
Most probably it was due to dragon blood that coursed in his veins.
The man was shaken up by Damien's authoritative voice. He parted his mouth as if he were just about to tell Damien what kind of truth he was keeping within his heart, but another second later—Damien saw the left side of the man bulge.
"Master Damien—eek"
Squelch.
Damien pulled the remnants of the Heart Controlling Worm and threw it inside his inventory.
"Dan, try to run a check on this worm," he told the AI system. If anything this worm made Damien feel restless, he had a really –really –like –really bad feeling regarding this worm.
The three of them walked for another three hours, Damien was almost certain that they were lost again. But that was until he came to a stop in front of a large funnel of what seemed like mist but when he carefully observed it, he realised that it was not mist but tiny mosquitoes.
[Mist Mosquitoes: Flesh Eating mosquitoes, they are tiny and really hard to see through the naked eye. Which often leads to prey stumbling past them without careful observation.]
Damien's expression darkened. He was tired, sweaty and just wanted to take a nap. Don't get him wrong, he was not a sleazy bum but he was truly tired.
"Are you sure this is the tower of Helion?" Damien silently wished that Maui would refuse but the stead nodded and replied to him. "This is indeed the Tower of Helion."
Fucking Damn It.
Damien glared at the large funnel shaped cloud of mosquito but then calmed down. There was no point in losing his temper here.
He said to Dan, "Is there a way to get rid of these mosquitoes?"
"There is," Dan replied after searching the entire space around the temple. "There are a bunch of Citronella leaves that are growing at the back of the temple. You can use it to create another potion to deflect the mosquitoes and repel them."
Damien: "..."
Are you sure that I am a doctor and not an insect repellent?
Though annoyed with the turn of events, Damien still sighed and went around the back to look for the Citronella leaves.
These leaves were different from the ones that were found in the human world. They were spiky and tall, and to make matters worse, there was a large bird nest placed on top of the tuft.
